The only way that I could attempt to make this complex dish is by the way that you teach us. You prep one ingredient at a time. Then you add the ingredients to the mix one at a time explaining everything in detail as you do it. Then before you know it you have created that particular recipe and you are ready to eat it. Fish sauce is exactly what the Asians uses in this dish and majority of their meals.
If you've eaten Chinese food, you more than likely have eaten something with " FISH SAUCE " in it unknowingly , it's very common.

I made this recipe last night, and was disappointed in how it turned out. I refrained from using salt, yet the result was an onslaught of too much sodium. I believe that that was because I did not get any precise measurements/quantities of how much soy sauce, fish sauce, and hoisin sauce to add at the finishing point.
