A darksided force user truly loyal to someone other than themselves is unprecedented. Maybe that's what the orange blade represents. Someone who uses the dark side of the force, but in the service of something greater than their own ambition. So unlike the Sith, they don't fuel their power with greed, fear, anger or hatred, but they're still ruthless in the pursuit of their goals in ways that the Jedi are not.

Joruus C'Baoth was that dark jedi and he did help Thrawn to perform a number of feats that bamboolzled the new republic. The problem was he was insane and was obsessed with finding any remaining jedi and bringing them under his control. He did not respect Grand Admiral Thrawn as he should have and only reluctantly aided him on the promise of Thrawn delivering Leia and her twins to him. -Jedi Purge
    -Building of 2 death stars
-Current building of Star Killer Base.
-Possibly also mined in the creation of the planet killer weapons that Sidious secret first order fleet had.

The orange lightsaber, according to legend, is used by Jedi diplomats. They were incredibly rare to see sparked because words and politics were the main weapons of these Jedi diplomats. They're not nearly as strong, but are effective at defending against lightsaber attacks and were used primarily as shields - Obi-Wan did use one in his lightsaber briefly to break through those shields, so maybe they're reintroducing kohlen crystals here.

He reverted to his first lightsaber, which he had lost to Tavion on Vajuun, but finding it again later and defeated the Kam Solusar clone. He would take the clone's lightsaber crystal and hilt and use it as his third lightsaber. As an experienced Jedi Knight, the purified the crystal to emit a now yellow color. He gifted his first lightsaber to the force sensitive crew member of the Junker, Idi-Shael, who he decided to take on as his apprentice.

Orange being my favorite color, I greatly approve of this inclusion. The Kotor games did an awesome job expanding on lightsaber crystals, so it's great to see some of that lore trickle back into the canon if only bit by bit. Being limited to blue, green, yellow, purple, and red feels incongruent with such a large galaxy, there ought to be far more varieties of colors and saber characteristics.

Imagine if these 2 Dark Jedi end up being known as members of, The Order of The Wolf? That would be cool, and very Filoni-esque. I wonder if these unique crystals are the ones that power Baylan and Shin's lightsabers, regardless of their connections or allegiances to The Dark Side or The Light Side Of The Force? Interestingly, as cool as they appear as Dark Siders, I actually want them to be redeemed and brought back to the light, because they would be great, unique allies to Our Heroes. Thank you, Good Sir.

As the exposition of Ahsoka's white sabers will certainly be included in the series, I'm sure there will be complementary lore around the orange sabers. My speculation is the differentiation between Sith and dark Jedi, juxtaposed with Ahsoka's path. Their objectives will be quite unique and allow for an even deeper nuance of light/dark that all of us have enjoyed exploring since the first film came out.

Surprisingly no one has mentioned Kotor 2 with the explicitly rare crystal colors of Cyan that the Exile used in the mandalorian war, the Bronze crystal used by Lowbacca, Viridian one the Jedi had never seen before, Violet like a hurricane in a sunset and lastly Orange like Haasqs Sun. These were all naturally occurring crystals although many did not give a description as to the location of formation. However we can surmise through Kreia(Darth Treya) that the crystal used by a force wielder is chosen through the bonds they make and their corresponding reflection of their connection to the force. And since Revan is Cannon this implies Old Republic knowledge as Cannon as well. This corresponds with the grey jedi of finding balance between the light and darkness although many would rely heavily on dark side use as a tool while the knowledge balanced with light side principles allows them to not become conflicted. The best reference to the light and dark side to be tools wielded by certain personal intents is what makes the difference in perspective of the user to others. Bendu is just as cryptic as Treya and also makes a point about its use as a tool. The tool is merely a tool but the intent behind the tool is nothing more than personal preference and affinity towards their goals.

As Ahsoka is a version of the 'Heir to the Empire' storyline, then Baylin is a version of the mad cloned Jedi Master. The Jedi Master was destroyed as part of Thrawns mission in the book.
Depending on how much they incorporate the plot it is likely that both could be clones, and may explain the coloration as they are not exactly who they were originally. Maybe Mount Tantis will be involved.

Like the colors and balance of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, Green, blue, indigo, Violet. I think Revan's blade is the only one to reach Violet. Other indigo blades might look purpleish. But Revan was a rare one that went "full cycle" cause didn't Revan do both dark and light sides? Ahsoka's blades being white or silver would be placed left or right of green? Or is it equal but on top or bottom of green. Green has the bias of yellow and blue... .just like the zipplock bags. No bias, but in the middle would be white or silver? In real life I heard about "Negative Green" on the color wheel. It is between black and white, and has TWO wave lengths. One positive and one negative. Does that mimic her twin blade style also?

I've always viewed Orange Lightsabers to be representative of being The ultimate form of balance with the force; Yellow representing jedi sentinels and their ability to balance both the combative and Philosophical side of the force Combine that with red And you get Orange which represents their ability to Draw upon the dark side of the force for combat purposes or Philosophical Purposes to counter act or reverse engineer the thinking of their opponent with empathy and logic Which would be the appropriate color to represent a Grey jedi Sentinel, a bendu je'daii and je'daii assassin But this is Disney Star Wars That we're talking about so I don't expect them to stay accurate and faithful to anything and that is truly sad!💯😁😉👍

IIRC, kohlen crystals could make a saber blade, but it didn't have the cutting power that a kyber did. It was more like the nightsticks the police bots in Futurama used. They were solid and could be used to bludgeon. They could also penetrate the personal energy shields that were powered by kohlen, iirc. it's been since the book came out that I read it. lol.
Shin's saber is (I believe) Kanan's hilt. It looks just like it, maybe with a few slight alterations. This would make sense as Governor Price had possession of it after Kanan died and was going to give it to Thrawn. Perhaps he was still able to get a hold of it when he came back and gave it as a gift to Shin.
Also, I believe Kanan's connection with the Lothwolves will also have a connection to this/them. Dave LOVES wolves, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Not sure if you check comments but I'm almost 1000000% sure this is actually an easter egg. Maybe more ironic considering the trailer release date. But KOTOR had a PC exclusive quest, after completing you get 2 items, an orange crystal for your saber, or a "turquoise" crystal. Some call the turquoise one Cyan, some called it light blue. But it's basically that color Ahsoka is using. In the game the items are called "Heart of a Guardian" and "Mantle of the Force" and in some circles this is broken down to the 2 fundamentals of grey jedi. To use the force to protect the living things around you, and to be an anchor for the Force to enact its will. Again not saying I'm right but if i was a betting man, the first confrontations with the wolves will probably be to recruit her.
