I thank you again for your comments on my video, as it has led me to your video! This is one of the best dive videos I've seen here on RUclips. Awesome editing. I was thinking I'm going to ask how he got that music on, as I was watching, but you made it yourself! Wicked! It is an absolutely excellent project from start to finish, and filled with things for me to learn from! Thank you again Robin.
Thank you very much for your compliments, very much appreciated indeed! I'm going to the Philippines over Christmas so I got another one coming up next year;) Cheers!
Hi Si! Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like my video! Awesome, where in Marsa Alam did you dive, and how was it? Regarding Protune raw mode, it's essentially a mode that let's you capture more detailed video with more information in each pixel... Setting the white balance to raw and using the protune mode makes your shots look really dull and lifeless right out of the cam. This is why using these settings forces you to do more manual tweaking in post production. The perk of doing this is that that the final quality will be better, since the gopro auto white balance have a tendency to make your footage look over saturated - although the files are huge, this mode uses up more battery and it's very time consuming! I don't think the hero 3 silver has got the protune mode, so if you're keen on trying it you should get the black edition! Please share your dive vid once it's done, cheers!
Great video Robin, and your own music too!! Thanks for adding the info about your equipment, I've just come back from Marsa Alam with a macbook full of GoPro silver 3+ footage, shot with a polar pro red filter, and gathering thoughts about editing it all together! What do you mean when you say your footage was shot in pro tune raw mode? Can't see that option on my gopro? Cheers, Si
Thnx Coco! All the footage post edited in first Gopro's Cineform and then Final Cut Pro X - This was necessary since it was entirely shot in protune raw mode! The lights I used was the I-torch video pro 5+ and two Venusian III lights! I would recommend using two video pro with the gopro for the best result, I love those lights!
tdrke Cool=) I do recommend filming in 1080p 60 fps, it gives you great flexibility in post production since you can slow your footage down to 30 fps to get some nice slow motion which also makes your footage feel a bit more stabile! I've tried the polar pro and it's nice but slightly inconvenient at times... It's quite easy to break and it's pretty much loose when you take it off! I prefer the Backscatter FLIP filter 3.1 since it always stays on the camera, even when you are not using it!
it is for a poem I wrote about the sea. I would like to add some underwater footage to it to make it more visually appealing. I will be sure to add your name to the credits for your work.
