A part of me wanted to see the plane just catch the wind and float away
It looked like it was for a bit as it angled forwards a bit after the drop. I was so stoked just to see that
When they filmed Octopussy, they had to drive a plane off a cliff to film it crashing below. The plane was filled with explosives and driven off the cliff into a nose dive. As it fell and caught lift; it pitched up away from the target area and glided away, over a freeway and away from the camera crew, crashing into the ground a few miles away.

This looks like a very safe way of landing a small airplane.
Good to know that if ever you're in a small airplane that needs to make an emergency landing, all the pilot has to do is find a trampoline in someone's backyard and aim for it.

I misjudged it and was expecting it to go wrong and was expecting the plane to gather enough speed to hit the fence.
