“Remove the bulb holder” is way easier said than done…

Thank you soo much! This is my first do it yourself car repair on my 2013 Golf. Don't have the funds to pay someone to do this so took it on and your video helped me so much.

Very helpful, thank you. I found that the bulb holder was jammed onto the light unit and being a such a flimsy piece of sh ... er, plastic, I was afraid to exert much effort to persuade it to come off. Seeing you remove it with a simple pull gave me sufficient confidence to work it off carefully using a small screwdriver to apply just enough effort around all sides to ease it off. Straightforward apart from that. Always disappointing that a "simple" bulb replacement should be so fiddly - imagine trying to do that on a dark rainy night on the side of a motorway somewhere! From the comments, I'm not the first to find removing the bulb holder less than straightforward.

0:45- thanks for this part in particular. I was having the hardest time trying to get the socket out of the housing, since the wire was trapped under the plastic surround. I've never owned a VW before, and none of the other cars I've owned have had lights like this. So thanks again!!

Is this a joke? Dude made that look too easy. I can not pull the bulb holder out, or I feel like it’ll be destroyed
