Ha..ha..great thoughts, excellent video. Although I suppose you are absolutely correct in your summation, but if we manage to try and separate the wheat from the chaff most "people" involved with photography, whether professionally or otherwise allow their "wants" to rule their "needs" .... - I as an example, I too, am a creative - painter, sculptor, writer, carpenter, industrial designer, but I'm not a photographer, my involvement with photography over the last 35 years has been centered around servicing, repairing, restoring, resurrecting, refurbishing and modifying analogue film cameras. I'm more or less retired (now 60), but I still have more than 900 analogue film cameras, both 35mm and medium format, including multiple lenses for each of those cameras, that I sell to supplement my income. I wouldn't be able to do that, if the demand for analogue film gear hasn't been as popular as its been over the last 20 years or so. So I now need to figure out if this craze for analogue film gear has peaked or will it continue, my guess is for the next foreseeable 5 years it will perhaps begin to crest, but I suspect that is completely dependent on a few extraneous factors - the main one, whether the planet itself will survive our rabid desire for the reckless wants, those we all seem to be chasing into that oblivious last photograph we are about to fabricate.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom, Charhett. You seemed to have found your happiness thru process and the detailed actions of restoration. I'll be hitting you up as I'm always on the lookout for a timeless gem (when the recession calms)🙂. I don't see you skill set going out of style any time soon. As for the planet... man, I just take one day at a time.🙏🏽with Gratitude .

I have been a lot more deliberate with my film photography. If I want to shoot my minox camera I will think " Is this photo worth two dollars?." If I shoot 35mm or 120, I have been very careful about what I am shooting. If I want to photograph my family members I now shoot digital 100%. Flying trips have been taken in a car. I've also been selling all of the gear that I am not using daily. Luckily, lenses and film bodies have been holding their value.
