Fablades Hey thanks! After putting the roller bearings in it and that scale and clip, it really gives it a super premium feel. Polishing the flats made the action much smoother too and is a noticeable difference for the better! Really happy with the way it turned out
Thanks dude! Probably my favorite aftermarket scale I’ve had and appreciate not having to wait for overseas shipping haha. I don’t think it will ever leave the collection either, Hati’s are some of my favorites!
Thanks! I really like the original aqua twill alutex sale but the aftermarket one with the pivot collar really makes it pop. Dept_13 who makes the aftermarket scales does a really good job and the quality is top notch.
I know this video is a year old but I have a question. I have the Shirogorov F3 with G10 scales and I would love to upgrade the scales. How would I feel about getting a sept from this company ?
Hey so I’m not sure how familiar you are with Shirogorov knives in general, but most models have loose bearings or “MRBS” which gives a very unique and hydraulic like feel when opening and closing them. I know they are steel bearings but would have to ask one of my buddies about the exact grade. They don’t come with extra bearings but in my personal experience, I’ve never lost any when disassembling. I’d have to double check but I think 1.5mm is the size and I know a few people that have just ordered extras on Amazon and said they fit no problem. I’ve handled tons of knives from all different brands and in my personal opinion Shirogorov is among the top when it comes to the action. It’s all personal preference though and if you’re someone new to the brand I highly recommend trying one at some point. If you like smaller knives the Hation/ Neon models are a great starting point or if you prefer larger the Hati or even the model 111 is awesome!
So personally I have not had an issue with the bearings getting dirty to the point of negatively effecting the action, but I mean if that did happen you can take it apart to clean fairly easily. I don't feel like these gunk up any quicker than the regular MRBS unless you use a lot of pivot lube on the bearings which in that case would start to build up faster no matter which set you had at that point! I tend to run my Shiros with little to no pivot lube because too much will make the action feel funny as well, at least in my experience
Dan Duran so I got the roller bearings from Dept_13, you can contact him through Instagram. He does the rollers and custom scales as well. That’s where I got the one with the pivot collar that I swapped in the video! He’s located in Russia so there’s a bit of a wait but it’s definitely worth it if you decide you need something! I’m really happy with how my Hati R came out with all the mods I did to it. Gives it a much more customized look and I love the way the scale has like a marbled CF bolster and then the copper dust twill it’s really unique.
Mr_Niceguy Knife Reviews it looks great. I am working on getting my first Shirogorov. I am aiming for the F3ns. The price has always been a little out of reach but I can’t hold off any longer. The just look way too attractive. Thank you for your help.
Hey sorry I wasn’t getting notifications on here for comments and just saw this but I don’t have the knife or scales anymore unfortunately I ended up selling it awhile back. Not sure if you’re part of the Shirogorov FB B/S/T groups but if you ask around there you might be able to find some! That or try contacting Dept_13 on Instagram and get a custom scale made which is totally worth it but might take awhile. Either way good luck on the hunt!
Pretty cool scale man!

Good job on the tutorial, sir! That was the only scale I was willing to part with, but I still miss it! 👍🏻

Beautiful scale

Really appreciate the work you put into this video! Learned a lot!

Did you polish the flats..? I've only seen the flats polished on the CD's...
Man looks awesome! The bearings are an extra cost I'm guessing? Can you please tell me ballpark price for the CF Dept 13 scales?
I have scales made for my f3 from him and they were about $300 USD. I have seen the bearings go for about $100 used
Why? Why can’t the bearing be caged into the opening. What grade are the bearings. How many extra do they give you?

How did you contact Dept_13? I don't seem to be able to message them on Instagram. I emailed them and never heard back.
I got to him through instagram, maybe just send him another message.
That looks sick! How are the roller bearings after getting dirty? I feel like they would be more effected by lint and dust the ball bearings.

Mr_Niceguy Knife Reviews did you get the roller bearings from Shirogorov or are they after market?

Wanna sell me your old blue scale??
