I told my two daughters aged 13 and 15, just reject your colleagues who wish to send you all after dinner and dance drinking session dinner get together dinner supper gathering etc just call daddy anytime I will use my own car or taxi to drive you both safely back home. Life lesson... BMW is not crash proof.
Him and his friends were kind hearted as well, as they planned that during the first day of CNY they would help pack and deliver food to the elderly who are living alone. Stupid of them to race during the early hours of CNY though. Must be very hard to accept the truth for their families as CNY is a festival for reunion with their families.
From what I heard too, the driver customised his newly bought M4 coupe and injected methanol, which is highly flammable. Even if the crash happened without the methanol, there will still be a higher chance of death due to the speed of the M4 coupe which was speed around 220.3 kmh in a small and narrow road. The impact would've caused the death.

I feel sorry for the owner of the shop house. Not only is it damaged but it will always be associated with death. Insurance can pay to restore it but not remove the stigma. As for the victims, I hope their deaths serve to deter other reckless speedsters. Those who don’t value their lives are at risk of losing it.

Some say its drunk driving, some say its racing, some say the car is faulty or it could also be that there's sudden health issues that impeded the driver's ability to control the car. Or it could also be other possibilities like passenger influences or whatnot. Just wait for the investigation to be over. Lives are already lost, don't jump to the conclusion when people are mourning the lost of their loved ones.

According to my younger sister whose colleague 's friend is a specialist in BMW cars, this BMW car is a second-hand car but it won't explode easily even when it crashed into a wall. Even if this is the case, the driver and passengers will be able to escape through one of the car doors, so it is suspected that illegal modifications have been done to the BMW car or else it won't explode or catch fire easily. This is what my younger sister has told me about what her colleague has told her.
Its all a marketing gimmick by BMW and the likes. Notice tbat the blaze/explosion was not on impact. If the impact damages any part of the fuel line which is under the car, its carpow*&%^#. With heavy electronics and massive wiring, electrical fire is not impossible. Many other possibilities if its not a straight forward vehicle-still-upright-on-road collision.

Driving in Singapore is getting out of control. We need to start a petition and have stronger law enforcement. I often see cars racing well over the speed limit at night and almost had a few drive into me when crossing the road.

The car is BMW M4 Convertible Sg$450,000+. Riders likely sustained critical injuries immediately upon impact and did not slowly burn to death. (Thus not attempting to open car doors or get out of roofless convertible).

Rodas "rapidly died of severe blunt head, neck and chest trauma," the report said.
Note, sports cars much more likely to burst into flames on crashing. (the engines+speeds)
This entire incident was really unnecessary. Hope the families of the departed finds peace.

1) Witnesses already say they started talking loudly and revving their engines even before the incident happened. Don't believe.
2) Witnesses say they already speeding and made 2-3 rounds around the same road prior to the crash. Don't believe.
3) Video clip showing them speeding on a narrow road at 197KM/hr (According to a redditor who did the math judging via distance of the road, how many seconds it took before the crash, and area of crash site etc). Don't believe.
4) Driver endangering the lives of his passengers and bystanders. Could have very well killed someone crossing the road. Don't believe.
5) Driver literally crashed the car at full speed making it burst into flames, while his passengers were in the car.

Please let this be a lesson to everyone to drive safely and not speed. This is also a reminder to myself. I admit i enjoy speeding on the road while driving as well but the risk is just not worth it. You endanger not only your own life but the others around you who share the same road.

Terrible loss but cant deny the driver was an idiot getting the rest of his friends killed by speeding. Definitely a great reminder to all reckless drivers on the road. Pls drive responsibly and think of others.
There is nothing wrong with the M4. There is nothing wrong with the road. But this road is certainly not designed for ~200kmph speeds. The Traffic Police should start tightening enforcement on speeding and drink driving. Long suspensions, jail and caning should be made mandatory in order to keep our roads safe.

One of the victim run a korean restaurant in the area and seem like they have bunch of friends hanging out at the restaurant, then suddenly the 5 victims get into the car and drove off for some reason might be showing off his modded BMW or driver is drunk (not sure how you can get drunk from an korean restaurant). After the crash, one of the 26 year old female who is the fiancee/girlfriend to the driver tried to open the car door in flame to save her man, but got burned really badly like 80% of her body so either she heard the loud crash from the restaurant then run to the site or she is with the group of friends outside fliming and watching the speed show.
