All small mustelids are “in gear’ at all times when awake. It is the principle reason they are Not pets. ...but if it happens...you are blessed. You have to play with them til they run out of gas (40 - 90 minutes)
You want it the idea of one.but garuntee you would get very frustrated.there not snuggable animals.kmy hats being pet or held for more than 30secs they start squirming.even ferrits are a pain in the ass 24/7play and bite till they grow old takes a few years for them to settle down.think of a baby squirrel on crack
@@dougbull9204 I can confirm this 100% about ferrets. I've owned them(or they've actually owned me) for over 35 years and it definitely takes a long time for them to settle down. We once had a baby ferret who was sooo wired that she literally ran on the sides of the walls of her cage(which we rarely locked her in). You definitely get little sleep when they are young.

Kauf dir lieber frettchen. Um ein wiesel zu bekommen musst du es schwerverletzt auffinden. Ausserdem sind frettchen genau so aufgedreht, aber man kann mit ihnen super kuscheln
Der Besitzer weiß das. Hättest du durch ein paar Videos geguckt und die Video Beschreibung gelesen, hättest du gesehen das er sogar geschrieben hatte das man Wiesel nicht als Haustiere halten sollte, Ozzy jedoch ein besonderer rettungs Fall war.

Ferrets are a variety of weasel, but a ferret is domesticated while a weasel is not. They are wild animals. As cute as he is, and as playful as he is, bear in mind, he was worked with a lot by someone who knows what to do.
I still like think some level of realization the play bite is different from the killing bite, like I had a ferret and he killed a rat once it was mostly entirely more brutal. I think weasel family animals just play rough and really don't view the fingers or hand as prey cause if they did they'd draw blood.

I wonder if they smell bad? he is so very delightful and obviously trusts you completely. He is also obviously playing very gently with you, as you are with him. It reminds me of how kittens play with my hands the seeming ferocity of it, but its humorous and very gentle, know teeth or claws are used. I hear weasels, like ferrets and pole cats have a musky smell that you can't avoid?
Weasels teeth are needle sharp. They kill their (often much larger) prey by crushing their spinal cord with a bite through the back of the neck But this is play,so highly unlikely

@@Frisco68 ps: the foaming at the mouth part doesn't always occur. Mostly it's more drooling than foaming. Also there are two types of rabies . The one most people think of and a more "silent" form that's harder to recognise, called "paralytic" rabies , which affects mostly muscle control and coordination - so people sadly often don't realise an animal is infected ....it's not always the ferocious , aggressive, biting anything in reach - animal people think of. Just a little bit of info.
I don't think you can. Weasels are as far as I know not bred as pets. I believe Ozzy was found when injured or abandoned as a kit and nursed back to health. it usually goes out of the house but seems to like to return

Frisco68 Rabies is the most fatal disease out there. Fatality rate of 100% if left untreated.
