  • This demo from the 'MAPLE FLOW - Powered By Maple' series shows how Maple Flow uses a custom interface developed in Maple to connect to a Microsoft Access database to extract product data and perform a beam-loading calculation with the imported properties.
This is Part 2 and shows advanced data connectivity workflow options for MS Access, using Maple to develop the interface, test it, and then deploy it to Maple Flow to provide further automation of engineering analysis tasks. The video for Part 1 shows the simpler case where an engineer can connect directly to MS Access from a calculation worksheet: • Data Connectivity with...
This example gives a deeper dive into Maple Flow connecting to Microsoft Access and shows the “round trip” workflow from importing design data, calculating key parameters, testing if the design pass or fails the constraints of a design code and exporting the results into a results database. The process starts in Maple with loading a JDBC driver for Microsoft Access and setting up the SQL queries to allow the Maple Flow commands to connect to the Access database and extract data from it for use in the Maple Flow calculation worksheet.
The results can then be exported from the calculation worksheet to another Access database. This means passed and failed designs can be easily recorded for traceability and to support the reuse of the design analysis in other projects.
The modular approach of using MAPLE FLOW-Powered By Maple allows for the development and testing of these procedures within Maple itself before packaging them into Maple libraries for deployment in Maple Flow, adding reliability and efficiency to the engineering data workflow.
