"After the incredible success of the Tundra V1 and V2, Durafly has decided to produce yet another version with even more improvements to bring the Tundra series bang up to date. The V3 is now a pure 4S set-up so it has power in abundance to make your flying even more fun than it was before (if that is at all possible!). Other changes and improvements include daylight bright LEDs (so bright they are suitable for true dawn-to-dusk flying), a reinforced nylon prop that is more efficient, and better balanced, a return to the classic EPO foam wheels which are lighter, and stronger, pre-installed pushrods, hex-head bolts and screws throughout. The V3 is available in the classic Tundra green and white scheme, or a red and silver color scheme Durafly has called the "Inspire". The reason is that the original Tundra was "Inspired" by the "Highlander" full-size SuperStol experimental airplane.
The Tundra V3 also includes the revolutionary Aerostar RVS (reverse function system) G2 ESC, this ESC offers instantaneous reversing, so there is now no need to stop the prop before reversing. This makes it perfect when using the Tundra V3 on the water as a floatplane, but it is also great fun in the air, and really good for short landings, just ensure the prop is on nice and tight!!
The tough EPO foam construction is beautifully finished, and being "Plug N Fly" the Tundra V3 is supplied with the powerful, and reliable Aerostar 3636-900KV brushless motor, the Aerostar RVS G2 40A ESC, and 6 high quality 9g servos. Retained from the V2 are the upgraded landing gear and fixings, vortex generators, improved wing connectors, and battery tray.
So if you are looking for flying with no limits, then you’ve found it with the Tundra V3. Whether it’s flying from rough bush fields, water, snow, or sand, FPV flying, aerobatics, glider towing, candy dropping, or just good old fashioned super STOL slow flying, then the Tundra V3 takes it all on with ease. Only where one is needed, but I fly at an official field 99% of the time. 99% of that time I fly my UMX’s during that 1% of time.
This not to put y'all down but having seen JVH do a maiden and seen a few of the other influencers do vids I was hoping for more aerobatics the V3 can do. I am kind of impatient with air planes and start wringing prop planes out after the basics are done by about the 3rd or 4th lap, but thats just me. glad to see y'all flying. Y'all take care
I am sorry for not being as entertaining in this video as you had hoped. There are two things most people don’t consider when they watch videos like this. 1) All of my maiden flights are the legit maiden flights. What that means is my goal is to get it up and down in one piece while trimming it out for future flights. 2) This was only my second ever float flight with an RC Plane. I thought about it on the way home that I should have used some of that 4S power to do a nice loop or something, but my goal was to get it up and down safely. I have other flights where I fly more aggressively, but that will never be my maiden flights. These planes cost too much to foolish right out of the gate and like Pilot Robert, that has never been my style to be a trickster.
As far as other people go, John’s are the true Maiden Flights, but many of the people who would call themselves “Influencers” fly them a bunch and make a promo video with the plane, only showing the highlights or best flights. I show it raw and gritty, which isn’t for everyone.
