Kind of reminds me of something from "The Dresden Files." When Harry Dresden's daughter was kidnapped by The Red Court of Vampires she was meant to be the sacrifice to a bloodline curse that would kill Harry and his Grandfather, a hitman wizard. But in the end not only did Harry save his daughter but he eradicated the Red Court. Later that was specifically pointed out by Micheal Carpenter, a retired holy knight. "Harry the Red Court took your daughter. After that you went after her and walked away with her in your arms and an entire race of vampires extinct. I think you set the bar pretty high for what happens to people who come after her."

@@BlazingOwnager To quote Ed in this situation. 'Do not advertise tactical opportunism as pious morality!' Just how many times has such rhetoric been brought up in whatever situation when the other side seems to gain an advantage of some kind? hell, in case you've forgotten, such exploitation of tactical opportunism was what got them all in that mess in the first place, with Heveena enlisting Topa's help despite such a motion being apparently ethically unsound. that same adherence to tactical opportunism would have easily led her to leave Topa to her own device, denying everything before the council, & there wouldn't have been the expulsion of Moclus that followed. the colony also wouldn't have been recognized as a sovereign state by the Union & placed under Union protection. One could only call one's core values as core values when one is ready to defend & adhere to such values even in adversity. if one were to be so ready to exploit any kind of tactical opportunity without regard for one's values, again in Ed's words, 'what exactly are we defending?' sure, such a course of action would come with the probability of undesirable consequences, but there wouldn't be a Planetary Union in the first place, when one's so ready to kill just because not doing so comes with the risk of losing one's standing in anything, would it now? Furthermore, although Kelly & Ed are personally supportive of Heveena's revolution, her fight ultimately is hers & her colony's, NOT the Union's. to so readily seize a tactical advantage at the expense of the values that one & one's organization hold for someone else's fight, would not only reflect badly on Kelly's professionalism, but also what the Planetary Union embodies. & finally, those who're involved in such clandestine operations, Heveena especially, ain't stupid. she, & by extension, her people, would immediately know that their operation was compromised the second she realized that Topa was taken by the Moclan black-ops. countermeasures of any kind would have been employed before word got out of the mouth of the damned inquisitor, & their tracks would have already been covered by the time the Moclans looked into it. killing the inquisitor would, as such, be ENTIRELY UNNECESSARY. sure, it would slow their operation somewhat & cause fewer females to be saved in time, but Heveena would be the one to be blamed for her callousness & desperation, NOT Kelly or the Planetary Union in general.
@@BlazingOwnager Clearly you didn't finish reading what i wrote. what you said Kelly should do is again i stress, ENTIRELY UNNECESSARY, so short answer, NO, this AIN'T one of those times. hell, even the eradication of the Kaylon would be more compelling than Kelly letting Bortus kill the inquisitor, despite the fact that it's genocide vs killing just one guy, if for nothing else than the very utilitarian point of the chances of the Kaylon eventually learning enough about the weapon & defending against it, thus biting the Union back big time, being FAR HIGHER than the chances of the Moclan government being able to make good use of what that inquisitor managed to pry out of Topa.

@@FalconWindblader I never said it was moral. But sometimes the right thing to is the wrong thing to do, and this is one of those times.
Actually she didn't They were rescuing a victim from interrogation and didn't know what information had been divulged. The sensible thing to do would be to kill both in order to save other lives and reduce the risk of information getting out. Not doing so could/would/did cost lives and, let's face it, the evidence to morally justify such an execution was bleeding in her arms.
Commander Kelly :
Bortus Saved a Guy's Life ...
How did you do that ? ? ?
Bortus :
I Stopped Hitting Him .
This scene was so raw and real, I wish my father had cared that much.
There is a reason that any with sense fear the rigteous wrath of an angered parent.
Hell may hath no fury like a woman scorned, but Heaven alone understands the power of a father's reckoning.
The actor who played Bortus was incredible. He needs to get a role in a major film. I checked out his Wikipedia and he hasn't gotten much TV/Movie work, The orville being his only major role. He's too good to not have a lead role in something big.
1:00 - 1:22 You want to see a Moclan on Moclan fight to the death, Klingon style? Now you see it😉
At least Bortus still followed Kelly's order and let go of the Inquisitor. With Worf, he wouldn't stand any chances (RIP Duras) 😒🙄
"Thanks dad"
Bortus reminds me of teal’c
Strong
Gentle
Good warrior
Cares about friends comrades and family
He can be savage but also civilised
This is what a fathers response should be and probably what my dad would be like if anyone hurt his kids
"commander...one more punch"
Bortus has unlocked Amos Burton mode. He is that guy
Revenge is always wrong, but sometimes very understandable.
Just ask Worf when he killed Duras after the latter killed K'Elmyr.
Said it before and will say it again, had he finished the job he'd saved a lot of lives.
Kelly was wrong to stop him.
And could be said justified in this particular case
Revenge is wrong, but this is not revenge, not entirely. Get in, get the girl, get out, but letting this monster walk out free to raise the alarm? Nope, this is justice.
Dammit commander, just wait outside for 2 mins, just 2 mins!!
I’m not even a father but I would have done the same thing as Bortus if my own daughter was tortured like Topa was you don’t mess with a Father’s Daughter
Kelly externally: "Commander stand down"
Kelly Internally: "...I wonder whats for lunch"
Bortus externally: *smash*
Bortus internally: *FUQIN SMASH*
The best part of the beating is you can hear the guard start weeping in terror and pain after it's done.
1:03 the real inquisition begins 😄
At least Bortus still followed Kelly's order and let go of the Inquisitor. Had he fought against Worf, he wouldn't stand any chances (RIP Duras)
"Commander, stand down!"
Yeah, good luck with that.
Anyone else feel that if Topa hadn't been watching whilst traumatized from the "Enhanced interrogation" then Kelly wouldn't have said a damn word to stop him? 🤣😎
Talk about an eye for an eye 😂
I was expecting him to tell her to get topa to the shuttle and he’ll catch up
At that point he not commander anymore. He is a father for his daughter
1:04, (Dad Mode Activated) ooohhH SSSSHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bortus went all PAPA BEAR! And rightly so. 😡❤️👍🏽
Damn, blinded him on both eyes that’s hardcore. I love it
ooh that look in his eyes when he stared down kelly looked like if she tried to physically stop him he would have turned on her in blind rage...
Okay this is the first time I've ever seen pop bear so pissed off😮
I’ve heard reports of a few parents doing something like this and blacking out, so barking orders at them becomes useless.
My mother went into what she called a red rage, she had no memory of ripping the screen door off its hinges to use as a weapon on the woman who tried to harm my sister.
This was incredibly satisfying to watch, I mustn’t lie 😂
Was finally refreshing to see Bortus' Moclan rage come out.
I was fully expecting Bortis to crush the Inquisitor's skull in
Took a LOT of will power to not beat the guy until he was a pile of meat. Bortus was truly seeing nothing but red. Absolute blackout rage. You can see him coming to after the fact
Order or not the bastard who tortured my child dies. I understand Bortus's rage in this scene.
That's a good dad right there.
I love that moment when you see his face go dark. You just know that dad side was speaking to him like Venom lmaoooo
Bortus' 'I am that guy' moment.
This is what happens when you mess with a Daddy’s girl…
You GONNA GET BOPPED OUT SON!!
That rage was very reasonable
No jury in the union would convict him. Not even the moklans.😂
Stand down!! - Nope
Stand down!!!!! - Nope
*after he's beaten the guy to within an inch of his life*
Commander stand down that's an order!!!! - Okay
I wouldnt have stood down, he would have been ripped to pieces. Best scene to describe is the scene from Castle where he is left with the captor and you hear him screaming.
"Stand down!"
literally about to shoot them to defend the kid. Also, if he stays alive he could warn the rest of the base like...wtf
Perfectly valid response.
The second i saw that look in his eyes, that moclan was dead already!
He did exactly what you are supposed to do
Why would she keep the child in the room! Everyone knows that once the quiet dad snaps, you take the children out of sight so they don’t see the hell that is about to be raised.
That is some good therapy for dad!
There is no stand down
Bortus went full on Worf with that dude.
Father- Approved 👍👍👍
OMG as soon as I saw the look in bortus' eyes, I knew he was going to beat the snot out of the other guy. And I would have done the same thing.
The joy i felt when bortus snapped!! I gotta watch it again
This guy still got off easy considering what he did. He’s still breathing after all.
Death would be a release from his punishment. Now he has to live blind and in possible pain from the neural damage of that shock stick activated that close to his brain. I think its a safe bet that the spy's name has been pretty well scrambled.
He is one angry father and I don't much blame him
That’s nothing, you should see what Bortus’s actor did as Kratos.
from what i know of him, quite reserved
Bortus is that guy.
As a father and Grandfather I approve of his actions.
quick brutal and far more fitting than if he had simply killed him.
