As a DJ back in the day,...this was one of my hardest hitting 'funk tracks',...I'd throw this track in a loop and make folks lose their freak'n mind! Yessir! IYKYK!!
Prince always had tricks up his sleeve like the backwards cymbal sound, & my brutha, I subscribed to your channel instantly because I know a good engineer when I see one. I used to be a part owner in The House of Beats (HOB) and you're 🫵🏾 definitely the real deal. 🎹 🎸💟 🔊 🎶 ✊🏾
I just call'em like I see them, no flattery intended. We in the music world know a real musician and I know that you are very talented. I play different instruments, drums, bass, keys, and guitar & I have a studio at home. I've learned to work with beats & putting different instruments on tracks but playing music is what I believe is the real way to create music 🎶, so like I said I'll be checking you out & best of luck to you in all your endeavors my brutha. 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾 ❤️🖤💚
@@staggersmusic My producing partner and mentor Kevin Allen from Houston, TX was a wiz when it came to playing the guitar. He also knew how to play the bass and drums, and knew how to work magic on the keyboard. When I first met him back in the early 90s, he showed off his skills by playing the guitar riff to The Time, 777-9311. Would you please do me a favor and build this song?
Did not read the replies, maybe is typed somewhere, but also erotic city have the H910 everywhere, on Sheila voice, on Synths even the first guitar noise is pitched up with it nice cover W
Nice job! For the snare are you using just the Linn snare. or layered with a clap too? Also, have you ever heard some rehearsal or live versions that have this funky synth brass vamp? it's really cool don't know why he didn't put it on the released version.
Thanks! I actually used a Linn snare (no claps if I remember correctly...). Not familiar with those other versions. Prince was waaaaaay before his time in music production. I enjoy covering his songs because he used sequencers, vintage (analog) synths and drum machines etc.
When I hear the reverse cymbal in the beat, it sounds like the whole song has the word "fff**k" playing all through the song. Was that intentional by Prince? 🤔
Fantastic this was the best Bside followed by She is always in my hair. Prince B sides should of been A sides. Thanks for doing this.
Don't forget about 17 Days.

Love it, nice work mate.
Keep the FUNK ALIVE…. I am a witness…. It is!💕☔️☔️☔️☔️😎
Erotic City is also on the small 45 of Let's Go Crazy. I have it in here somewhere
there's always a single simple line you can isolate in a prince's song. it's a sample. always.

Respect bro 🙏🏿
What song would you like to see me build?

Make more Prince videos😌
Very nice!!!!!
I just watched his first video with Do me Baby and with the ending of the song I know Prince would have a way much on point ending to his song.
I
Would love the have that Erotic city drum beat to play over my spoken word song that I have finished but I just feel it’s so incomplete
Great track!
One question
No funky rhythm guitar?
No vocals either...
New sub!!! Could you recreate "lets go crazy" Prince?
What program do you use? what synths did you use?
Hi CoolN8! I use Logic Pro X. Synths came from the "Korg Kronos II." Drums were from Linn drum patches/samples.

How much for beats like this sir
Depends on the arrangement of the track.
@@staggersmusic anything close to anything like this is good enough for me but I need em
Can I buy that track
I had that record over 39 years
I need to hire you to do my tracks for my clothing commercials my brotha

@@staggersmusic most definitely I'll reach out
if i play this by Prince -- then I have to play Rick James Rick James - You and I
Rick James Stole many of Prince’s samples when they were on tour together. Prince wrote this song after listening to “Atomic Dog” by Parliament
