Man.. Beasty being one of top 2 players and still from time-to-time doing mistakes like throwing 15 unprotected vils to outside stone.. He basically had the game all going well for him until this greedy basic fail.

The observer is really amazing! The commentators are good, but missed talking about a few of the things the observer showed, especially at the beginning around the sheep count. Major props to the observer

    Please answer two questions:
1 - Are buildings in AoE 4 not used as 'walls'? Like they are used in AoE 2...
2 - In AoE 4, can all forests be traversed? Are forests used as walls in AoE 4?

How many times were upgrades cancelled by a castle beig destroyed? You loose the resources right?

Love the channel. But man are there so many adverts. Could we perhaps get an advert every 10-15 mins instead of every 5 please? Thanks!

20:29 Remind me of SC2 where the game is essentially over after the Zerg kills all the Terran workers at the third with a runby while the Terran is posturing at the edge of creep. In both cases, it's extremely annoying game design because a ~5-10s interaction ends the game. I thought Beastyqt was doing relatively well up until this point (2 sacred sites and 4 relics). Could have minimized worker losses more by having a tower at the northern berries but it wasn't *that* bad until this raid happened.

Annoying game design..? Zerg killed all those workers because Terran didn't react in time and also didn't scout very well (army size at the main fighting area).
So you'd say Football (or Soccer) has an annoying game design because 5~10sec build up to a goal ends the game, or swings the game into one team's favour hugely?
Marinelord made a decision that had some risks (leaving his own base and letting Beasty get a closer castle on him) and it paid off. Calling it an annoying game design just seems ignorant, and shows lack of understanding of anything that is going on.

@@jazbas_aoe6357 You talk as if the players have map hack. Terran might not see a large zerg army at the edge of creep but that doesn't mean anything. The army could be setting up for a flank or is even further back. Because Zerglings move so fast, their position doesn't matter as much because they can move into position within seconds. They could even kill workers and run back to flank the army - basically, the zerg army doesn't need to be within scan radius to be a threat.
Saying that the Terran didn't react in time is hilarious. The Terran can react instantly but what does it matter when there is insufficient defense at home? They can't run the SCVs to the natural if they don't want zerglings killing all the workers at the natural as well. PvT games that are decided by a single widow mine drop killing 6+ workers is also pretty dull to watch. But maybe you enjoy that watching that interaction.
As for this game, it's so old I don't remember it. But my impression is that Marinelord didn't take much of a risk by doing that. The castle would have went up wherever Beastyqt wanted it because knights couldn't attack his force in a straight up engagement. In fact, Beastyqt already dropped the castle and Marinelord tried to contest it for a bit before going for the raid. Marinelord actually made the right move. If his army can't fight head on, it's better off harassing. Now that players are much better, maybe Beastyqt would be more cognizant of that and not send workers to an exposed resource at the front of his base.

Your first point shows the level of playing you are at isn't very high. At the highest level (which I was close to at one point), not being able to make those decisions IS part of your skill. Scouting, positioning, and GAME SENSE. Saying it's just a poor game design is just a lazy way of saying you can't handle the speed of the game.

@@jazbas_aoe6357 Okay, I'll trust you on that then. The era of every Terran dying to a zerg runby on the third in every tournament was probably just a glitch in my memory.
Dark beat Maru multiple times with that runby style in the Dreamhack finals ruclips.net/video/q32nud3eKf8/видео.html but you probably were playing at a higher level.
