Kriss the Chinese have an unsavory record of blatantly disregarding the environmental and spiritual sacredness of the land, in their industrial quests! I've noticed a few times you pointed out how certain areas lost their organic and natural characteristics. As much as I would love to see my Grenadian countrymen/women prosper, I fear that it will be at the highest cost! The Chinese practically own Jamaica and it appears they already have Grenada in the bag. Thanks for taking us along and opening our eyes.

Are you going to bring development to Grenada then? Would it be a problem if the US or UK was building this? At least chinese are bringing development. Grenada was in the bag of the UK for years with no major development.

This is sad, really sad. 😢 Developments of such magnitude brings pollution in air, land and sea. Traffic, garbage etc. Are they including their own recycling plant? Grenada is a natural gem that should be protected and developed minimally. Boost agriculture, produce your own products you have resources in abundance. Any project that does not benefit the well being of the inhabitants of GND becoming self sustainable is a waste of quality land. Pay attention to exploitation and cheap labor. Who is really benefitting here, is it a handful rich while the poor gets bear minimum?

As much as I like your new PM, he is basically giving China and Russia Grenada on a platter. Most people don't realize Grenada opened their CBI program to Russians in November (the only democratic country to do so), and since then, Grenada has granted over 400 passports to Russians through investments in projects. That's a LOT for such a small island. China and Russia are very aggressive business dealers (so are Americans, for that matter). It would be naive to ignore history and think Grenada won't be pushed aside and stepped on in their own country with so much money on the table. I hope PM Mitchell is able to protect the land and people of Grenada from overdevelopment and unethical business dealings.

They've already decimated a good percentage of the park in the initial stages. It's sad. One of only two major safe zones destroyed for this lecherous development. Also my area in the North is up next (Bathway /Levera area). Also a Chinese development. I do not want to see our little country become a "playground" for the wealthy, and foreign. Where locals can't enjoy their spaces, where they only see us as a servant class and pay us only to do as much. This sickens me to my stomach.

If the government and people of Grenada allowed themselves to be hoodwinked, this is what will happen.
The few handful cleaning jobs will be promoted as good jobs.
    100% imported Chinese workers.
On the other hand, there are few well-do Grenadians who live in the area and holds a condescending view on other Grenadians.
So from that point of view it will not be a loss as local Grenadians are already barred from enjoying the park.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Couldn't even finish the video it made me so mad. So typical of governments in developing countries. Yes I totally understand/get the need for crucial investment for the economy/ for the people. As in any nation that has to be balanced with other factors but sorry this is not in any way measured development. 1) it is clearly not for local use, 2) therefore how much will be flowing into the local economy once built, 3) and most important - talk about killing the thing that makes you attractive ie Grenada's natural beauty. This nature area will be irreparably lost. That development doesn't look out of place with what they build here in London let alone Mt Hartman Bay! Inevitably, as some have mentioned here, I wouldn't be surprised if political pressure from China who have invested huge sums of money - the latest the Maurice Bishop International Airport upgrade comes to mind - have called in their bets. If you dance with the Devil ...

Ugly ugly ugly. This will make Grenada look more like the north Caribbean. We need Architecture that reflects and develops on the Uniqueness of our African, Carib, Tiano history. It needs to better reflect our tropical marine environment. What I see there is very copycat. We are unique and our future Architecture should reflect that instead of trying to emulate styles that do not apply to us.
