You asked the wrong question dude.... Question should be: Does Oklahoma State need Ollie Gordan to have stellar performance to win and so far, the answer to that is no. I'll also add...yes, the O-line sucks run blocking, pass blocking however, the Cowboys have rated highly all season and have yet to give up a sack. Totally agree though, the defense has been awful through 3 games...
I think saying they're 2 of the top 4 coaches in the Big 12 is an understatement. There are only a handful of coaches in the country who I think are on their level.
It's going to come down to the oSu offense v. the Ute Front-7. The Ute offense will dominate the oSu defense and I have no doubts about that so... If the Ute defense can contain Gordon, get 3+ sacks and a defensive td or two, Utah wins this game. GO UTES!
This is going to be a serious Dogfight of a game. Utah and Ok State are similarly tough teams with great coaches. Both teams absolutely have the ability to with this week. In my mind it comes down to whose offense has the better day passing. I think Utah has the overall better defense and that OK State has the better offense. I’ll take Utah 42-35
only stat that matters: Gundy wins 2/3 of his games against top 25 opponents Whittingham loses 2/3 of his games against top 25 opponents look it up if you don't believe me
Utahs first three games were basically scrimmage's. And Coach Whit doesn't show anything. Pure vanilla on O & D. Utah always has great D and O lines. Football is won in the trenches.
Unless OSU is as good as Oregon , Washington ,USC , Utah. i don't see this game as even being close. Utah has not circled any game On the schedule, but everybody else circles Utah. It's not as if we're playing Oklahoma or Texas. It's Oklahoma state thats right STATE ! THAT'S LIKE ALABAMA AND ALABAMA BIRMINGHAM, all utah wants to do is get through this mountain west conference caliper league and get to the playoffs 42. 14 utah
I'm confused, how is Utah able to run against stacked boxes, but OSU can't when they face the Hogs, Jackrabbits or golden hurricanes. And that is with the starting O Line in the game for all 12 quarters. When Mr. Rising was out, TBirds, Bears and Aggies stacked the box and Utah still had good running numbers, even when they had 2nd and 3rd string O Line on the field.
@@mikehutchings4488 Pretty sure Gordon commands far more attention then whoever the Utes (or most schools for that matter) put in the backfield....the difference is ..if Gordon reaches the second level....backers and secondary are toast...so defenses can't afford to let him loose...thus they force Bowman to try to win with his arm....which he has to this point in the season....I expect far more short/screen passes and several go routes to try and loosen the front end of the defense up...Bowman is meh though...hit or miss...he will be the big question mark in this game.
@@wxseth I agree that OSU will need to loosen up the front to establish the ground game. If they don't, Bowman won't have nearly as much time to throw as he has the last 3 games and don't think he'll be much of a factor. I also don't think Gundy has fully unleashed all of his blocking formations to create gaps for Gordon and that is what I think will be the main factor - can the run game get going or not.
Gundy has won 10 out of his last 11 games as a home underdog.
10 of 12 is nothing to be ashamed of
I hope it flips again by game day then!
They aren't favored anymore.

I am pretty sure Utah has not shown a lot on offense on purpose. Whitt does this all the time he waits to show the real offense for big games.

Utah was without LB1, Karene Reid vs Utah State. He’s a big difference maker on the defense alongside Lander Barton. Big drop off when he’s not in.
Which coach would win at arm wrestling?

osu’s opponents have been playing a loaded box outnumbering the number of blockers.

no, the only stat is scoreboard

Laceration ring finger under middle knuckle. Thin tape on it last Saturday.
