Exactly what I was looking for in a clear case. Clear case with some black edges and style. Thanks for the upload and review. I just made a purchase on their website.
Ive been using the gen3 case since it released. (Got it the next day after it released.) I can say that the buttons actually do get more tactile and clicky over time.
I got mine today and I have to disagree on the buttons. They feel good on the phone and I like how the fabric prevents dust from having an easy way in-between the case and the side of the phone unlike many cases that have gaps around the buttons. As for longevity, I think they will be fine, but only time will tell.
I get what you’re saying but I think it’s possible to prevent dust and design that doesn’t include that fabric. Tons of other cases implement this much better.
I got the frosted case 3 months ago when I first seen this review and so everything has been holding up and the buttons haven’t been a problem with the fabric and glue that you was talking about wish the magnets were a little stronger but other than the magnets I absolutely love this case and would recommend it to anyone
What’s up Tee! I purchased the Phone Rebel frosted series because of this video and it’s the best case I’ve ever had! Thank you for the recommendation!
Been waiting for this video for awhile! Did not disappoint your review is on point. Now you gotta do a comparison of the Rebel against the other top cases like Caudabe, Solid Suit, Pitaka, and Mous
This is my favorite case I got right now. I think you should run it and revisit the durability in a later video. See if the way he made the buttons was really an issue. Great video! You’re my favorite case reviewer man 💪🏽
I am not worried about the buttons I do agree on a fix being needed. Rebel case feels amazing in hand and the magnets are super strong. So if the magnets are weaker on the frosted it should still be pretty strong. The design is appealing and minimal. Camera protection and on desk protection is also good on the front and back. We should also see a frosted in the flex series later this year most likely. Thanks for the review.
Hey Tee. Was waiting for this review, finally. Case looks wicked. I prefer the rebel but the frosted looks pretty wild. Really hoping these guys will ship to South Africa. Thanks for the video. Get well Tee, catch you on the next one.
Thanks much appreciated and yeah that frosted is legit but I find myself using the Rebel right now. Has a little more grip and feels a little better in hand imo.
I got mine! (Went with the rebel 13 PM) I love it! As far as the packaging there was a pull tab on the side, but I couldn’t get it to work right 😂 I didn’t notice the button thing…but I haven’t noticed it affecting performance. The back of the case feels awesome! The entire case feels fantastic in the hands. Thanks for doing the video. I was curious to hear others thoughts on it. I completely agree about the installation guide on the screen protector. I put my husbands on (only because his other one was cracked) didn’t use mine. And yessssss NO NOTCH cut out. I prefer full coverage! Great review!
Been waiting for this one! Since Monday i have been rocking the Red rebel on my sierra blue and i agree with you about everything! I feel like i don't have to baby the phone like i do with the Flex and for that this will be my daily
I almost went with the red but went with the black instead. Love this case so much. Just wish the back wasn’t a magnet for smudges and fingerprints lol
Definitely the review I was looking for! I completely agree about the installation tray with the screen protector. I'd rather pay $2-3 more and get the tray.
I love this case it’s my probably favorite case out there. My only issue with the frosted case is the magnets for the MagSafe come out of the case and stick to the back of my phone when I’ve taken it off in the past.
I absolutely love this case, received it last week, only issue I have with it is that it doesn’t have much grip. I use a standard silicone case from Amazon that allows me to use my 13 pro max single handedly without any issues, however with the rebel gen 3 I can’t do that. Disappointed as this case is 10/10 in ever other way. Anyone else had this issue too?
Had to leave a comment since I just purchased one. This case feels great and looks like it can take quite a hit if necessary, I don’t wanna find out lol. Btw the magnet is very strong, it feels great in the hands and the buttons are not a big deal they feel quite premium. Keep up the good work solid case
Thank you for the honest opinion. My only issue is that you don't talk much about the camera bump. In most of your videos, you simply rush through it (once the case is on let us see the space between the camera and the case, you can do it by horizontally holding a piece of paper/ruler).
I am going to save this video in case I am able to eventually do a thin case on my new PRO MAX. I Probably get one of your grip cases first! Everybody better be using your links I hope?
Thanks for the video, T! It would be nice to see you tilt that stainless MagSafe charger on a 45° angle with some shaking to see how well the phone holds (ie, simulating a car ride). IMO, a weak MagSafe magnet is a deal breaker. Keep up the great work!
Tech!! my man! I got a solution for the screen protector installation.... First put the case on and then use the case as your installation tray!! it should fit perfect and the edges of the case will help keep it straight. big hug! thanks for the excellent reviews!!!
The Rebel is my favorite of all time. I'm so glad I was able to get one! I have to agree on the buttons. Mines came with the lock button not being very tactile. I took it off and cleaned the glue just a little bit and it works great now. I'm running the iPhone 13 Pro Max 1TB (slight flex) lol
Those are pretty good looking cases, the only thing that stops me from buying them is the grip on the sides, i didn’t even buy the Mous limitless because it doesn’t have a good grip, I prefer cases like the Dbrand grip or the Smartish Gripzilla, but yh man that was a good review love your channel
Honestly bro…I feel like the quality was top notch on gen1. Even the rubber was better quality let alone the box. I haven’t felt that quality since . Still decent cases though. Great review man.
I just received mine on Monday, overall it’s an insanely nice case. The buttons are ok, but definitely prefer the Rhinoshield style buttons as well (who doesn’t though?!). My only gripe is very minor, I’m not a fan of the raised edges since they’re so damn pointy (not exactly sharp, but its close). The raised edges on the corners I fear will fray my slacks (have to dress business for work) when the phone is in my pocket. I much preferred the thicker, more blunted raised edges. With that said, definitely a top 3 case!!!
Just recieved my frosted gen-3 took out the flex series from my iphone 13 pro and im in love with the case it feels soo different from the other ones ive ever had .
The frosted is Dope! I’m going to order the Rebel soon. I have absolutely no problem with my buttons 🤷🏾♂️. Pitaka #1 slim case & frosted #1 clear case.
Please keep the notch cut out glass. Over time I can tell that face ID acts up especially when the oleophobic coating wears off and the notch area is all scratched up.
I’ve never experienced that personally but could be a thing.

I have the rebel gen 2 and the quality and packaging is on point for sure they cut some budget in this case Rebel Gen3 and I love the product I have the rebel flex iPhone 13 Pro Max and I love that case
Great and thorough review! I finally received my Rebel Black Gen 3 case today and Iove it. I like the way it looks and feels and the buttons are very tactile. I am most likely going to keep this case and use it going forward and sell my Apple midnight black leather case. Keep up the good work.
@@TechnicallyTee Unfortunately, I have come across a couple of issues with the black Rebel gen 3 case. One is the fingerprint smudges and oils that appear on the carbon fiber back of the case. The other is that my iPhone 13 Pro will not charge on a third-party magnetic wireless charger I had purchased from Amazon. I didn’t have any issues with this charger and my Apple leather case. Now I may need to purchase a MagSafe charger from Apple. :-(
You forget to weigh the Frosted series case, Tee. 😂 Bought both the Frosted and Rebel as well. Frosted would probably be my daily case since it doesn't attract fingerprints and grease like the Rebel's Aramid fiber. Only worried about the buttons and the sides of the frosted series yellowing. I like the Rebel case but mine has a small white spot on the corner of the back that I can't wipe off which sucks.
Quick update, Tee. The magsafe ring popped out of my case after using the Frosted Black case for 2 days. Sheesh. Bought 3 cases from them and 2 already have minor defects.
Wow really? I’ve had one other case before I even got the chance to do the video magnet pop out on me. Something for frosted owners to pay attention to for sure.
This is the first clear case I do appreciate because of that “black mag safe”. I ll still go with the flex series. Actually rocking the Caudabe sheath but can’t wait to get my hand on my flex 😁
Unfortunately I’m not a fan of the case. The bottom corner risers to I guess keep it from wobbling on the table, dig into my pinky. I suppose I could file it down but don’t think I will.
This case is very nice and protective but I find myself going back to caudabe sheath because it has a more comfortable feel and texture especially since I have the iPhone 13 pro max.
Does Rebel not make the unique sideless cases anymore? Their entire selling point when they launched was that their cases didn’t have sides, so when you swipe along the sides of the phone screen it felt like u didn’t even have a case on it. It was the whole reason to buy one. They’re just regular cases now???
Love the sheath for years. The MagSafe version was the first one I didn’t care for. Loving the flex and the pitaka magez Pro to keep it as thin as possible
I read a review off their website about the magnet strength being a little weak. I believe u mentioned a little about it also. How does it compare to other cases? I just ordered the alpine green
BUTTONS ARE CHANGEABLE FOR DIFFERENT COLORS ,,THATS WHY,,on the rebel case ,you can change the colors without changing case MAGSAFE MAGNETS ARE 30% STRONGER THEN APPLES CASE
I just got my flex series for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I also have the flex for my iPhone 11 Pro. I notice a few differences between the two. I feel like the one for the 11 Pro is made better. The 13 Pro Max one doesn’t have the blue stuff in the corners to help with impact and the back half of the case is not as grippy as the 11 one. I don’t like the new one as much. Idk why they changed it.
I got the red carbon fiber phone rebel case and I absolutely love it. My new daily case 100% recommend it. The protection is great I absolutely love the metal buttons they feel just like the actual buttons and the magnet is definitely strong
@@TechnicallyTee I did notice the buttons after you pointed it out. I’m hoping it doesn’t affect it long term. I’m like you I have a few cases I like to switch up so I’m curious about how they hold up from the case coming off here and there
Nice review! Has anyone reached out to Phone Rebel why there seems to be a difference in magnet strength among the Rebel Gen 2, Flex, Gen 3 Rebel and Gen 3 Frost? I have tried both the Rebel Gen 2 (currently using) and Flex and both have really strong magnets! Was really surprised and disappointed to hear you say the Gen 3 Rebel did not have as strong of magnets of the Gen 2 and Flex. Then you said the magnets were even weaker in the Gen 3 Frost. I’ve suspected for awhile now that the construction material of cases affected MagSafe magnets strength and that would account for the Gen 3 Frost being different… however why are the Gen 3 Rebel magnets weaker? For some people this doesn’t matter but for people who magnet mount these in cars it does, in fact the main reason I bought the Rebel 2 Gen 2 was because of magnets stronger than other cases I’ve tried.
Yeah I’m not about the inconsistency in the magnet strength. I guess I can see it being weaker on the frosted but I would think they would be the same from the Flex to the Rebel.
just received my black frosted case today :). i like the design but the edges are kinda sharp and i feel it when i hold my phone. if they removed it, the case would have been perfect for me. so now not sure how long the case will last as my daily lol. otherwise i go back to the caudabe sheath case.
I am always on a mission for the biggest phone with the thinnest case that can handle drops… the open sided has always been the way to go for me. How is the bulk of the gen 3 ?(that was an issue the gen 2 had)
Yo tee do you think the rebel gen 3 magnets are stronger than the caudabe sheath? I feel like the sheath had a strong magnet on some of my accessories but it keep jiggling at the bottom of the phone, and it keeps falling off from my magsafe car mount if there’s a speed bumps
Got a Monarch and a Gen3. Monarch is still more hideous than a Defender and bulkier than the Gen3. The last time I had one was maybe the Samsung S3 and UAG still had metal screws then. Monarch is going back. The Gen3 is replacing a modified Encased Falconshield MagSafe as it felt too bulky. Gen 3 seems like the best balance of protection, functionality, and slimness.
I started using the rebel case with aramid fibre 2 weeks ago & my iPhone battery health drop by 2 percent . My phone always very hot when using this case , is it because of the inner suede material of the phone ?
Since you only do reviews on cases, are you planning to do drop test on these cases ? Would love to see if it can really take a hit, since the whole point of cases is to protect the phone from drops
Yeah I pay for these devices myself and I can’t really do drop tests. Too much stress on the device imo. I might consider doing a few if I feel comfortable doing a drop test.
This exactly. I love cases too much for them to be all damaged lol. Makes it hard to go back and do best of series when they are all damaged and beat up.
It’s all personal preference. The Flex design is for sure different so you might have to try them both and see which one. Just know the sides are out on the Flex. Get better protection with the Gen 3 for sure.
For those that have the gen 3 frosted MagSafe case, are you having issues with the magnet ring on the inside staying attached to the phone when you take the phone out? Really looking at getting the black frosted to go with the gold 13 pro max but have seen reviews of people saying the inside ring is not secured well. Thanks for any feedback!!
Yeah I've seen that said before, I know they fixed it on the crystal series but I'm not sure if they switched things up for the frosted versions where it was originally reported.
Exactly what I was looking for in a clear case. Clear case with some black edges and style. Thanks for the upload and review. I just made a purchase on their website.

The 13 Pro Max one doesn’t have the blue stuff in the corners to help with impact and the back half of the case is not as grippy as the 11 one. I don’t like the new one as much. Idk why they changed it.
Sounds like I’m adding a metal ring to the back of my frosted series.
You know why I'm here.
Getting my comment in for this video 🤣.
Haha yessir!
I got the red carbon fiber phone rebel case and I absolutely love it. My new daily case 100% recommend it. The protection is great I absolutely love the metal buttons they feel just like the actual buttons and the magnet is definitely strong
💪🏽💪🏽
@@TechnicallyTee I did notice the buttons after you pointed it out. I’m hoping it doesn’t affect it long term. I’m like you I have a few cases I like to switch up so I’m curious about how they hold up from the case coming off here and there
Yeah I’m for sure going to an update on this case after about a month or so to see how it’s holding up.
Fantastic Video, can you try the Rhinoshield Solidsuit buttons and see it they fit? 👍
Man I don’t want to pop the buttons out because idk how forgiving that adhesive is lol.
@@TechnicallyTee Looked like your volume buttons were pretty much out in the video?
Yep you can pop them out easy. Doesn’t require much.
I wonder why they don’t have any cases for the 13 mini? Was gonna buy!
Yo Tee! How is the grip on the frosted version? Is it slippery like a lot of other clear cases?
It’s ok. It’s not the best but it’s better than a straight up clear case. Still would like a little more.
@@TechnicallyTee appreciate you big dog
No doubt 💪🏽💪🏽
Hey I have the Crystal Series Gen-3 case with no mag safe for the iPhone 13 Pro and it’s so hard to take off the cover any suggestions how it works?
Does this smudge up like the Mous carbon fiber? Five seconds after putting my Mous case on I’m cleaning the back.
Yeah you gonna get some smudges no doubt.
Better than dbrand grip case?
Great video!
just received my black frosted case today :). i like the design but the edges are kinda sharp and i feel it when i hold my phone. if they removed it, the case would have been perfect for me.
so now not sure how long the case will last as my daily lol. otherwise i go back to the caudabe sheath case.
They are both A1 and it all depends on what you want in a case. Right now I've been using it a little more on than the Sheath and I love it.
I am always on a mission for the biggest phone with the thinnest case that can handle drops… the open sided has always been the way to go for me. How is the bulk of the gen 3 ?(that was an issue the gen 2 had)
It’s not that bulky surprisingly. I can easy deal with it and I don’t mess with bulky cases.
How would u compare the Rebel Frost with the OtterBox Symmetry Clear MagSafe Case?
Will this fit the Iphone 12 pro max ??
I really wish EAP has made this line for mini series as well
Yeah I hate when they don’t include the mini. They did last year if I’m not mistaken.
Trying to decide between this case and the mous 4.0 limitless. Which one would you recommend as they both seem to be quite similar
That's a tough one but I think I'll take the Gen 3 over the Mous. I've been going back and forth between the two but Phone Rebel won.
The sheath still wins…took me 2 weeks from the u.s to the u.k worth the time and money
The Sheath is still a W.
Gen3 or Monarch, which one if MagSafe doesn’t really matter?
Wheeewww that’s a tough one because I REALLY like the Monarch. For build quality alone I feel I would take the Monarch without thinking about MagSafe.
How’s the durability been? Been seeing wear and tear on these isn’t good with MagSafe
You know man I’ve been using it since this video and still is solid.
@@TechnicallyTee nice man I got a frosted one on the way. Looking into the Gen 3 or Flex though
I’ll stick with my Pitaka MagEZ Case Pro and my Pitaka Fusion Weaving MagEZ Case 2. Enough said.
Some solid options right there so you good!
I don't think he wants to break his phone lol
Yeah I pay for these devices myself and I can’t really do drop tests. Too much stress on the device imo. I might consider doing a few if I feel comfortable doing a drop test.
If you love your phone, don't drop it on purpose. End of story. PS. Do you also wanna damage a great looking and expensive case on purpose?
EAP has already drop tested this case on his channel
This exactly. I love cases too much for them to be all damaged lol. Makes it hard to go back and do best of series when they are all damaged and beat up.
Have the Rebel case and it’s great. I like it that they use less packaging. The buttons work flawlessly. Their screen protectors are also terrific.
The buttons work good but are engineered kind of bad. Can’t wait for the refresh with the better buttons.
What do you think of the 50 ft drop test on that case by everythingapplepro? You think its edited or real?
I think it's real. I doubt he would edit it to make it seem like his case is the most protective. It's solid as hell so I can get down with it
If you can only buy one. What will you choose? Gen 3 rebel, frosted? Or flex?
Gen 3 Rebel.
@@TechnicallyTee thanks bro much appreciated
I just got flex series for my iPhone 13 promax so should I upgrade it to this gen 3 case which one is better please let me know
It’s all personal preference. The Flex design is for sure different so you might have to try them both and see which one. Just know the sides are out on the Flex. Get better protection with the Gen 3 for sure.
Man both look 🔥🔥🔥
They are indeed.
@@TechnicallyTee I think you’re the only one to review these so far. I’ve looked around with no success. Best in the game bro!
Thanks man yeah I think it’s the first on RUclips and that’s why I was trying to get this bad boy out!
Are these magnets on the frosted strong enough for car mount?
O yeah you don’t have to worry about that. It would have to be really really weak for that. Cases with the weakest magnets still work just fine.
@@TechnicallyTee Keep up the great work. Appreciate it!
