Yes, it is real and it is as old as they say it is, but the maps that he based it off of had errors and instead of thinking that they could have errors he assumed they were 100% correct though incomplete and so he basically combined them taking something that was wrong on each map making them even more incorrect.

That was an accident in the time of the dinosaurs Antarctica was once a forest filled with ferns and a fine climate but that was in the Mesozoic era
