Just do whatever you think would look good 😄👍 If you want some ideas check out this video where I list all the modifications I've done: ruclips.net/video/6A64C_wEJhI/видео.html

    I HOPE YOU GUYS READ THIS.....
    So I did this on my mom's 2012 Honda Civic EXL that only has the r18 sohc VTEC
    I did the K&n intake with a heat shield
    REMOVED THE STOCK AIR DUCT
    Added the EXACT SAME custom bendable tube IN THE VIDEO that goes down to the front bumper where the fog light used to sit just like he did in the video
    That alone dropped her short ram intake temps with just a heat shield were 140° down to 80 to 90° with the air duct
    THEN AFTER THAT....
    We also wrapped the intake tube itself in the gold reflective heat tape
    That dropped your intake temps down to 70°
    So with the custom air duct to the front bumper the heat shield and wrapping the intake tube in the gold reflective heat tape it dropped her intake Air temps DRAMATICALLY.....AND......
    Her VTEC... Crossover is now extremely loud and you can actually hear it and feel it which is amazing for a sohc when you hear it it sounds like a dohc VTEC
    But even on hot summer days now her card is not getting heat soaked and her car pulls so so so so so so so so so so so so much better
    I have done this now in my 95 Civic Coupe that's my built track car
    and on my 04 Honda Accord V6 6-speed manual Coupe
    And my 2004 Mitsubishi lancer Ralliart
    It's the Best of both worlds you get the benefit of a true long cold air intake without the fear of sucking up water!!!!

    Youve blocked one form of cold air, by putting that heat shield in the way, youd be better off cutting a half moon out of it, and fitting it over the pipework to deflect hot air from the engine. The Cold air feed youve installed is also only mixing with the current heat from the engine. You need to have the air filter enclosed from the sides exposed to the most heat.
    A direct fit induction kit, of decent quality would come with everything you need, and would perform better

    • @NAUTOG
      @NAUTOG  Год назад

      Yeah you're right a decent quality induction kit would perform better but this was done super cheap and was fun to learn about how the car takes in cold air.
      on my next car I'll definitely get a more effective method but this works for a 1.4 fiesta which has little power anyway 😅.

    What does that blue tube lead to?

    • @NAUTOG
      @NAUTOG  Год назад

      As far as I'm aware it's an oil breather tube - this is what I found online "This action of gases entering the crankcase creates crankcase pressure, which needs to be vented - and that’s where an oil breather system comes in. An oil breather system allows this build up of pressure to escape." but I'm no expert so don't take my word for it 😅

    With your setup you are actually losing hp and your car will preform less efficiently. You will have higher engine Temps as well as air Temps because your car will be starving for colder air. You will also get less fuel mileage with your setup. I know it "looks" cool but it isn't functional. You are 100% better off keeping the stock airbox on and just upgrading into a higher flowing air filter.
