@@IntuitiveLearn that’s true for the slurry, but what I meant is the sludge that forms in the bottom of the digester tank after the accumulation of solids that settle in the bottom of the tank.. that usually happens after years of using, or after less than a year if you are feeding the digester different kinds of waste.. this sludge has to have an outlet pipe, and it gets dried up and then crushed, then you get a fertile soil as an another byproduct..
Sludge which accumulate at the bottom of tank is usually Grit/sand having ( specific gravity) close to 2.65. As you rightly mentioned, it takes years for this condition to occur. Two methods are generally used or can be used 1. Manually cleaning the digester through outlet tank 2. Using pumps ( which can handle high solid content ) after putting water and breaking the bottom layer
Firstly, let me thank you for having made the best video on the subject. Secondly, If I've 20 gercy cows, what size of the plant is recommended? And can feed the plant daily with the cow waste? Or should I keep the waste dumped elsewhere and feed the plant occasionally? Best regards
for 20 cows assuming 15 kg dung total dung is 300kg . approximately 12 cubic gas can be generated daily. dimensions of the plants require more data . These plants are designed such that all the cow dung is fed daily.
Two three ways 1.Keep outlet slabs covered with insulated material e.g paddy straw 2. Cover inlet after use 3. Use hot water if available for daily feed
Hello. Thanks for this informative / educational video. Nicely and wisely explained the concepts. I want to run a 15kVA gas generator, daily 8 hours and also want to keep 3 days gas in reserve. Can you please tell me quantity of biogas to be produced daily and what should be the size of fixed dome type digester? Thanks.
Quantity of biogas will be 384 cubic meters Please check this link for calculations docs.google.com/drawings/d/1oFkH-xiieuxZBQ7vDbQNWGWhRbmc25veIP3IdDKkKtE/edit?usp=sharing
The size of digester will require other inputs like e.g." retention time" which depends upon temperature conditions of the area. "type of feed" will also influence digester size For retention time you can see this video ruclips.net/video/ml4UmGdW2us/видео.html
We have similar biogas unit in my village It opertated well at first then it stopped producing gas What could be the problem Anyone can help or advice please
Your question is not clear. But I am assuming you're asking about 6 cubic meter of biogas plant which has a digester size of 12 cubic meter. 6 cubic meter is the gas volume generated daily. 12000 kg or 12 cubic meter in case of slurry is digester volume calculated using retention time concept.
Thank you for the info..
How is the sludge removed out of the digester ?
Slurry flows out due to gravity. The level of inlet is higher than that of outlet point.

@@IntuitiveLearn thank you for the replies, very informative 🌻
Good teacher thanx
Very well explained and presented👏👏👌
Very informative and comprehensible! Thank you for info, sir!
So nice of you

Do we have to put non return valve on inlet pipe for slurry to avoid push back?
Not required as the inlet pipe level is higher than the outlet pipe. So slurry won't come out of it. A little pushback is OK.
Thanks for a great video, do you have a way to keep it warm in winter?
Two three ways
1.Keep outlet slabs covered with insulated material e.g paddy straw

Thanks a lot for your attention and response.
Could you plz further guide about the size?

"type of feed" will also influence digester size
