I stopped wearing super skinny jeans but not because of comfort issues. I never felt uncomfortable, but I did so because of perceptions about them along with the fact they looked silly. Now I wear regular skinnys and it's the best decision I made in terms of jeans. Never got a pair tailored though, I normally shop at Zara or next (UK viewer) and they fit me perfectly off of the rack.
Of course I've tailored my jeans Alex. Earlier you gave us this advise, so I've done it and I love my tailored pants. It actually makes a big difference. If you have an old or cheap pair of jeans in your closet that you don't really wear anymore because of the fit, PLEASE go tailor them. You won't regret it!
Slim not skinny jeans that fit well in the waist and thigh from the store, without any to minimal distressing, and almost always take it to the tailor to perfect them with minimal stacking (Kanye slp days) or no break (no stacks) for low top sneakers, it’s nice to have a variety for different footwear; and finally a taper from your knees to your ankle. Bonus tip: if they are chinos or dressier trousers, you can add a 1 inch to 1.5 inch cuff like Haider did for his runway show for Berluti

Hi Alex. You don’t need to taper or tailor the jeans. Brands like Nudie, G star and diesel, of u buy online, they sell it tru to size. Like mine is Waist 32 and length 28.
i tailored 4 of my old jeans i couldn't wear cuz they didn't fit me that well now they look amazing and they fit perfectly and they're like brand new now thanks a lot buddy
I ALWAYS taylor my pants, in Brazil (Alex will know) pants aren’t sold in leg length sizes and I’m a 5’10” so I get them taylored at the lenght and at the waist, and sometimes on the leg width and that goes for jeans, chinos and trousers (on these ones I always do the waist since it should stay higher than normal)
I'm a shorter guy so I buy jeans from Uniqlo online. I get slim-fit, NOT regular fit and they do alterations on them for either free or $5. Slim-fit and altering the inseam = best jeans for me finally.

Absolutely, I do tapper it every time I buy one as it's obviously rare to get that comfortable fit we require. More importantly, it's worth the effort. If they fit you well then great else Please do give it a try whoever doesn't.
I’ve never gotten my jeans tailored. However what I do is instead of getting say a 32x32 in super skinny jeans, I will get a 30x32 is regular skinny jeans and they end up fitting like tailored super skinny jeans. Usually get mine from Hollister or Abercrombie
I fix my old favorite jeans but then start buying new ones that no need any fixes, the best advice here is to find your size that just fits you perfectly and stay there, because sometimes you need to invest almost the price you pay for the jeans for a decent work fixing them.
