oh my god, I had always seen these crossings on Google Maps. It's nice to finally see some video of the railroad in this area and it's history at least modern photos
I've always loved seeing these crossings on the former TAG line, glad you came back and filmed them. Also a quick question, since the line originally began in Gadsden Alabama, did this line connect to the former NS line that was recently abandoned? (I forgot the name of the line), because IIRC you said something about the TAG when you recorded the crossings when the tracks were ripped out.
I passed through this location the other day while I was working. I remembered your video. So this track isn't officially abandoned. It's just out of service? From what I saw the line is mostly intact with the exception of the road crossings. Judging by the growth I guess a train hasn't been on the TAG in over 5-10 years..
I think NS does consider it to only officially out of service, but they have done some work on dismantling it (such as removing all of the crossbucks from the crossbuck-only crossings along the line and a few of the signals). The last train ran in 2008, IIRC.
Hi Great video. Did they remove those abandoned railroad crossings and replace those stop signs and flashing caution lights with regular traffic lights?
Thanks! There's only one crossing here, lol. Don't believe the signals have been removed yet, but, even if they are, I doubt GDOT will upgrade this intersection to traffic signals due to how rural it is.
I always like your content and seeing abandoned railroad crossings. Keep up with them videos!
Thanks!
Nice video! I really need a mechanical bell for my railroad Crossing in my yard (there's a track that runs)
Thanks!

Yes. That line was part of the NS AG Branch, which was part of the former TAG line.

TAG is very interesting railroad..great you showed an update..Hope see more TAG content!
Unfortunately this line hasn't been used in over 10 years.
@@freebrickproductions I know the tunnels are a big thing..encroachment of modern society on these areas is an issue
@@freebrickproductions Pigeon Mtn Tunnel is famous
Can you go to Gadsden AL and video document that end of the TAG Railroad?
@@flfun1684 I already have. A lot of it was ripped-up a few years ago, so not much left to see down there.
Whoa this is like very ODD, but Holy Lex-c 12x20's!!!

So this is the line that went through Rome, GA into Gadsden?
Don't think it went through Rome, but it did go to Gadsden.
By the way why is this signal is on the corner 😂 next to the stop sign
these LEX-C’s are cool I wonder why they stopped making it
because they were cheap and it could easily break
The lights look like the visors
Kind of a weird place to find a railroad crossing signal.
Not really.
Train came on this line in 1974
Nice video
Thanks!
