Practically every NFS game has had traffic AI that is placed strategically to increase the player's chances of crashing with them, AI opponents that defy the law of physics when taking a corner and rubber-band to the player when the player has the lead and loses it. The cop AI was the same in Need For Speed Most Wanted. It's easier to code games with AI (and physics) that is simply annoying and tedious, than challenging in an *intelligent* way. And that is not exclusive to arcade racing games, either.
I swear they're doin that with police recently in this game, I was escaping a heat 5 chase, checked in front of me on the mini map to make sure I had it. Yup. Empty. All good. Come over a bridge right in front of me and a little spearhead of 3 Corvettes fuckin rams my Civic and costs me my U+ part.
I have complained about the engine turn on time before. I honestly believe that from the time you start your car up to the time you're actually able to move, it takes entirely too long.

RsR4lyfe, or the Zr1, the Bug, '93 Mclaren F1(the Market one). all have epic handling, although there's a couple spots you mess up on i always forget as well, that sharp left turn that sent you off into the field when you was flippin on that jag going through dirt.
