they dont, the risk is to raptors and you don't have to use all horizontal turbines, there are others available you know, you can work in synergy with nature if you apply your mind, we also could be putting piston marine generators in the river severn and connecting minehead with rhoose over a causeway that would probably generate tonnes of energy (you cant do the barrage because it's one of the most critical bird feeding grounds.)
Where to start with this idiocy. If we don’t have renewable energy you are how can I put this…going to die. You’ll also see mass migration on a scale you’ve never seen before. Beautifully delivered by Mr sheen, and I would probably support the change to original Welsh name ('the senior language of the men of britain' after all).. But can't shake the sense that the only reason this is being done is for political reasons and intended to manufacture difference, lead to division, to lead to separation.
I think you'll find that the Park Authority has no defined stance regarding separation of Wales from 'England'. I do however believe that some of the ridiculously silly and even stupid remarks coming from some politicians and persons of standing (spurred on no doubt by Rishi S.'s uncalled for and, as PM, ill-considered opinion) will serve only to further strengthen the determination of those seeking such! Cael diwrnod da 🙂
They could have called it Donald Duck Land, 99% of everyone will still refer it to the area as The Brecons. People from all over the world live in Wales, they honestly could not care less what a signpost says, they just follow their GPS if they want to get somewhere, and if they can't spell where they want to go then they go somewhere that they can spell, or use the road number.
Snowdon & Brecon will still be used be widely for many generations to come, just as Everest, ironically named after a Welshman, is still preferred to Chomolungma.
Uluru is more commonly used across the world than Ayers Rock - likewise Beijing/Peking, Mumbai/Bombay and Kyiv/Kiev - yes, the English names will remain common for a while, but over time more and more people will adapt to using the native names for Eryri, Yr Wydffa and Bannau Brycheiniog.
Did you know that Sir Everest was an outspoken supporter of calling these mountains by the original names they were given by the indiginous population? Although the mountain bears his name it wasn't done IN his name, as it were.
Interesting too, isn’t it, that Michael Sheen made most of his career and money outside of Wales! Yet he wants us to believe his heart is only there, and is probably getting well paid for this. Typical celebrity telling the rest of us what to do!

Meanwhile, keep on wildly celebrating the importation of "diversity" that doesn't give a flying fig for your nation, your language or your countryside! If the plan ( FUTURE WALES 2040) to meet net zero, is to fill the majority of our uplands with giant wind turbines that are known to kill thousands or more birds and other species every year...
How will this help te bird population in the area?
they dont, the risk is to raptors and you don't have to use all horizontal turbines, there are others available you know, you can work in synergy with nature if you apply your mind, we also could be putting piston marine generators in the river severn and connecting minehead with rhoose over a causeway that would probably generate tonnes of energy (you cant do the barrage because it's one of the most critical bird feeding grounds.)
Where to start with this idiocy. If we don’t have renewable energy you are how can I put this…going to die.
You’ll also see mass migration on a scale you’ve never seen before.
The harm to birds is tiny. Google it!
Even on this they are now designing turbines that don’t harm birds. Incidentally the guff about birds was first introduced to the web by the fossil fuel industry, most notably the Koch brothers!
No one is going to meet net zero, it is all a fantasy! Whichever way we are creating energy it is all involving fossil fuels in one way or another, even if it is cleverly hidden. Anyway, what is the problem? Fossil fuels are just that - a completely ‘natural’ product from decayed plant and other matter! We have been brainwashed by militant so-called ‘environmentalists’ to believe that fossil fuels are some deadly poisonous substance. We are all living longer, better fed and thriving - due mainly to the use of fossil fuels!
Precious and stunning area. I can't wait to visit again, although I am in Oxfordshire these are still my "local mountains" and the feeling of atavism and joy every time I visit just makes me look forward to when I can get back there again. The new name is far better than the old, and encompasses the essence of the place. Michael Sheen was just the right person to front this video- I will mention it on the Wessex Ways podcast.
He said that with total belief - that's what we need. A beautiful and healthy vision for sure. I was trying to pronounce the name the other day. Thanks for the clarity. Mark (Hereford)
Bannau Brycheiniog is one of the loveliest place on Earth and Sheen - a proper thespian - is the perfect choice to give voice to this change.
Sheen stirs the ancient Celt in me. The Celt that held back the Roman advance in South Wales for 30 years. Wales deserves independence.

The only way that Wales can keep its young from moving away is to pass laws that ban the English, or anyone else from buying second homes in the country that are only used for holidays. Also thousands of houses should be built that young people can afford. It costs so little to actually build a property, but then builders - your own people, want to sell it for a vast profit. In that way they are no better than the second home owners. It is all in your own hands, but your government are always looking two ways, wanting to be in bed with Westminster, but pretending they are all for the Welsh. (English by the way).

No mention of sheep?! The elephant in the room. Sheep are not from Wales or even any part of Northern Europe. (They are a Middle Eastern ruminant introduced by the Romans. This is why their feet rot in our climate. They eat all the saplings.)
There should be stunning mixed woodland to more than 1500ft.. Instead we have scrubland pasture. This is nothing like it looked in the 5th century (same in Eryri and everywhere in-between). Reintroduce quality indigenous species, not just coniferous plantations (that destroy habitat for other plants and animals ) and there'll be more than ten times the birds, mammals etc.
Until this is acknowledged and tackled they are just pretty words, even if the verse may fall from the soul.
Also, in a rebranding exercise why is the narrator wearing a big North Face logo? why not stick the new logo over it...
Rather than interfering with watercourses why don't we just turn off a few tvs.
