I love these sort of videos so much! A week by a pool with nothing to do but read & eat is perfect. You read loads & you're absolutely right - read what you're in the mood for. I've just watched A Good Girl's Guide on the BBC iPlayer & really enjoyed it - probably not as good as the book, adaptations rarely are!!

What would you say is the ultimate summer book you would recommend everyone to read?
ah thank you so much!! and stop that is SUCH a hard question - from this summer so far, Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid I would recommend to literally anyone and everyone. It feels SO summery and isn't heavy on one genre in particular ❤️ If you're into romance, then it has to be Just for the Summer by Abby Jiminez 🍋🌸🍒🍦 happy summer reading!

I also read it first and I'm also super happy I did it that way! I'm certain it wouldn't have given me so many emotions if I had known anything about the universe/the characters before I read it.

Ahhh yesss! Ellen i was going to ask, do you prefer physical books or kindle? I had a kindle before but never used it, but i also have the ipad mini. which would u pick? hehe
honestly i love both!! there's something about a physical book that feels so satisfying and it is truly 'screen free' time away from technology which is so good for the soul sometimes! But i honestly LOVE my kindle, it is so convenient, i can take it anywhere, books are cheaper on kindle than they are the physical copy and i can read them in low light/ at night without having to have all the lights on 🥰

Love your content and congrats on the engagement! GGGTM has a different US vs UK version so set in the different countries. I’m in AUS and got the audio from one country and then the audio for the second book in the other geography and it confused me so much.

hahah honestly there are some beautiful copies of books that i leave perfect and don't read. But mostly for my holiday books i just go with the flow and the corners are much easier to turn down than a bookmark - plus i LOVE picking up worn copies of books from my shelves and being flooded with the memories of when i read them 🥰
@@ellenalicemiller I get you. Many moons ago I went on holiday to Ibiza, I read a book on the beach called Palomino by Danielle Steele, I kept that book for years and years, I could still faintly smell the sun tan lotion on the pages and it always took me back to that holiday.
