Alex, that's right hook on top of the chain, if it loosens, that hook still has a hook on the chain. If hook is at the bottom of the chain and it loosen that hook fall off the chain!! Good job Alex!! @@Rocky_Bandit75 Thank you! I do need to make an update video. The heater is great. Best winter investment. Does not drain the battery through the night and I have a fridge plugged in as well. I do have 2 batteries from factory.
As a licensed private pilot and major aviation geek, my dream is to haul something aviation related. Those engines were really cool! I'm really jealous! 🙂
Enjoyed the video man! Securement looked right to me. What would it have hurt the manufacturer to drill those holes an extra 1/2 wider to help with the chain points, right?? Take care out there bud💪👍
As watching over the year of your videos rates keep dropping. Fall time into jan was always peak trucking back in the days for tax right offs not looking good.. Keep the oily side down... Be safe be well.
Not if your advancing the load to your drop off. I always unhook and in notes in the eld program .. I state that truck is unhocked from trailer and load and what I'm doing.. like going to store or eating ect.
@@JustinMettleMcMahan If you dropped a load and you have no time left, they allow you to go to the nearest truck stop. That’s what I’ve been told. If you are advancing your load to your drop off then no they don’t allow you to.
Hey Alex, just a couple questions. 1. Personal conveyance to a truck stop?? Does that mean you left your truck and took an Uber to a truck stop?? Just a little unsure since I’ve never heard you say that before. 2. Yes, the hooks were correct. I noticed that you weren’t able to use a spare piece of strap to protect the paint this time. 😲
@@SteveSanders-SPB-FL Personal conveyance means I put my self off duty on the ELD and drive on personal time since I had no driving hours left. I made sure to ask the shipper of the mount points get scratched from the chain of that’s ok. They said yes. That paint was tough because it looked good when the chains were removed.
As you were backing into your receiver I heard your air suspension compressor running. Don't think I'd heard it run before., Was that 12k lbs of consentrated weight hard on it?
@@richardbarkley9909 No it’s definitely not hard on it. When you drive over road imperfections eventually some air escapes and eventually the compressor will add more air to the bags. The driveway there had a big dip and I think that may have had something to do with the trailer tilting and the height sensor sensing something and kicking the compressor on.
Alex-get a few safety rated screw shackles in two different pin sizes-then your chains would fit thru them. Save you some time.
what 2 pin sizes are recommended?
@@glennjukes5581 That is definitely great advice 👍🏻

Looks like a shackle is in order for this one. One pin to attach it and done.
Right on Alex! Good job bud!
Alex, great video as always. I wish you would talk about mileage and your truck. Little bit more once in a blue moon lol

No requirement on the hooks, up or down is personal preference.
Yo Alex quick question. How do you have your top reverse camera hook up and where do see it from when you are reversing??
