I've been using them for the past 3 months :) Love them. Before the Kapvoe, I was using dirt cheap glasses from Decathlon(France)...the were crappy, not big enough, bad glass quality. The Kapvoe are(in my thoughts) medium quality glasses, fun to wear(I got the really colourful ones :D ) confortable to wear :) I cannot compare to Oakley as I never bought Oakleys for bike ride, even though I got Oakleys for car driving
When I was looking for a new saddle, you made a video about saddles. When I started looking for photochromatic sunglasses... You came thru again! Thanks for the content, keep it coming!
Oakley (and all eyewear at Sunglass Hut and Lens Crafters) are owned by Luxottica, which is why they're so expensive. Thanks for sharing an independent eyewear company.
Yeah, there's no way I'm spending that much for a pair of sunglasses. My car payment is a few bucks more than that. Hhhmmm... car payment or sunglasses.
I bought a pair from this company but a different model. All black and it came with a chrome, black, clear, yellow and burnt orange lenses. They are comfortable and I don’t feel bad beating them up
Thanks for this great review! I am always worried that the photochromic lenses won't get dark enough in direct sunlight. That can really harm your eyes if you're out cycling the whole day.
What the UV rating of them? And are they impact resistant with certification? I sometimes don’t get these. You can get polarised Safety glasses with UV 400 and Australian certification of medium impact resistant for less than $50 from work shops
I dont know, to be honest this video is close to 2 years old and I think the company has changed names over times and you can find similar glasses all over the price just like this
I own Tifosi photochromic shades. I paid something around $60 for them. They work and the optics are good. I also own Oakleys. Oakleys are definitely worth what they cost. I'm glad there are more affordable versions of quality glasses for riders who can't afford $200 for sunglasses (even I don't pay full price for them). Plus, once you own $200 shades, you don't just leave them anywhere. LOL I used to lose $5 shades all the time. I'm going on 12 years with the same pair of Oakleys. But I have no problem using my Tifosis. I don't feel like I'm missing out on much compared to my Oakleys. I won't spend less than $40 on glasses. Cheap sunglasses are worse. Those Kapvoes look good, but only time & miles will tell.
German brand UVEX makes affordable photochromatic glasses, they might not look like foakleys but at least you're getting a product from a well known company.
I bought a pair of Kapvoes off of AliExpress, they have their own shop there and tons of different models, some of them are only half frame, too. Bonus: they're only around 15-20 bucks there
@@GCPerformance18 I have had a nosey on ebay here in the UK and even though the glasses are available, there is no mention of them including a prescription insert. I notice from your video that you had some in the box
quality pays. you get what you pay for. tighter tolerances : more money the only question is if you appreciate that premium quality by paying for that premium price tag or are you willing to make do with a product that's inferior and accept its flaws
I ride an average of 400 miles a week. I have a dozen or so cheep sunglasses and This might be a game changer. What the heck, I spend that much in cheepies every few months, why not give this a try!
couldnt agree more, I rode fake 100% glasses for a whole year while being a dealer but I got them for 20 bucks on the bay and they worked great and looked sick
Got another version of those exact same Chinese dropshipped glasses for £13. Don’t buy them they really don’t have any decent build quality. Cheap plasticy feel. Next to no adjustment on the nose and whatnot. Not worth it!!!
@@GCPerformance18 oh no very true. I've got an 80 quid dhb photochromatic pair and that's in the middle ground. Best of both worlds. Picked those up to have like you said a cheap throwaway pair just in case. Good for 13. Not good for 40 imo.
You're kinda shooting yourself in the foot being an Oakley and 100% retailer. Reality is the chinese specials are every bit as good at a fraction of the price.
Try re-doing this video without saying “40 dollars”. If it doesn’t make any sense. It gives you an indication how to improve your videos. Little useless as it stands unfortunately.
What you all think!!!
i need them!

I bought the black ones. Thanks again for the review and sharing your thoughts!

yea they are expensive also oakley was expensive before luxottica too but they all make nice products just pricy like anything

Have been using the same here in Dubai, they are excellent. The only con I can say is that they dont really go full dark.
yea I can agree, they work but like high noon or maybe a sun set when its hitting oyu right in the eyes it wont work all the way
I bought a pair from this company but a different model. All black and it came with a chrome, black, clear, yellow and burnt orange lenses. They are comfortable and I don’t feel bad beating them up
awesome!!! I was looking to get those models but they sent me just the photocromatic model
@@GCPerformance18 being in Las Vegas, the summer time calles for super dark lenses. The chrome lenses are perfect. I compare them to the sutros
Ive worn these for 3 years and have had no issues with them. Very comfortable and rarely fog up. $30 on Amazon right now
Nothing wrong with budget glasses especially if you are prone to losing things or are rough on gear!
hell yea

Surely your iris will adjust however dark they are?
Thank you so much I'm definitely going to click the link and buy I need these lol the are great for my budget and they seem to do the job

Are these z.87 ANSI impact rated?
What are some of the best bang for the buck biking glasses in your opinion?
How about their UV400 protection? Can we trust them it's true?
honestly unless u had the tool to measure it, no one would know
What about kapvoe scratch resistant and lens clarity?
I have not tested it but they give u 4 lenses so I mean for the price as long as u dont drop them crazy they should hold up

I will take a look thanks so much
Uvex triple image - just look at flashlight through them...
@Sbsjsj Hdjskdn did you miss the bit where I mention the "well known company" as a factor, Ming Ming?
@Sbsjsj Hdjskdn for example, no hassle warranties, return policies, dealing with known entity not with some random BS, to name a few, Xing Bong.
They look sick dude. 🤟🏻
I agree!!!
How can I increase my cycling energy?
I prefer no frame on the lower edge of the lens. Fully framed lens tend to pool perspiration at the lower edge and distort my vision.
I understand thta, I think he said he is working to make more versions and models, so I understand
I bought a pair of Kapvoes off of AliExpress, they have their own shop there and tons of different models, some of them are only half frame, too. Bonus: they're only around 15-20 bucks there

Can cheaper glasses actually hurt your eyes or damage the muscles or nerves??
Yeah also erectile disfunction and diffuse diarrhea

How can I contact you? I am kapvoe brand cycling glasses

Great review can you use them in the dark? 🤔
yes they can work and they will be clear lenses in the dark
how long to receive in Quebec Canada?
I do not know you would have to ask the seller
Guy, I don't care. If they do the job they were intented to do, last long and look good, I'll rock it.

“photochromatic” ≠ Photochromic
ahhh I did not knwo that thank you for the correction
It’s the same thing…….
