The vehicle hasn’t stalled or surged since the SCV replacement, plenty power and I’ve done the service changing all filters including the diesel filter ... 👍👍👍
Hi. Thanks for video. Do you know any way to prolong life of this valve? Changed my half year ago , use just shell v-power, and have same problem again
I have recently been working on a 2011 Astra J 1.7 with the same issues ..OBD revealed a misfire on No3 .All injectors sent off for testing and found to be satisfactory .Further tests then done showed engine ran OK when cold but started to run poor when up to temperature. Eventually stalling and difficult to restart. This was found to be due to heavily blocked DPF, with exhaust disconnected starting OK .Further testing with engine running revealed that there was excessive smoke/soot being produced when at operating temperature this was identified to No3 injector over fuelling at tick over when hot but fuelling normal when above idling ,installed a new injector but this gave the same fault condition i.e. ran normal till close to full operating temp' followed by over fuelling at tick over. A compression test showed Nos 3 & 4 cylinders to be slightly lower than Nos 1 & 2. .Thus followed a strip down to remove cylinder head ,this revealed a hairline crack between Nos 2 & 3 and a slightly wider split between Nos 3 & 4. Cylinder head overhauled new gaskets etc original injectors fitted engine teste and running fine .Had to use DPF cleaning fluid to clear exhaust but just of interest the blockage was at the "Cat" end and took quite a bit of shifting to get the DPF to regen' .I have come across similar symptom's to this but not by the this cause. Hope this is of help to someone ,note head removal on these engines is not for the inexperienced.
Cool good to know mate, I did test this one for PWM, resistance and couldn’t find anything wrong I was concerned about making the wrong call until opening up the thing 😊👍👍👍👍 cheers

Thanks for this - I've been searching for low power issues on YT and checked your vid out. I've had no issues at all with my car in the 6 months of ownership but during my last journey home it suddenly lost power and really struggled to accelerate. I was in a 30 zone so was keeping my speed just below this and thankfully managed to 'limp' home at just over 20mph. Over half a tank of diesel and no warning lights to indicate any issues.. The car would idle OK, just this strange reluctance to produce normal power when using the accelerator.. If the problem persists I'll remove the pressure regulator as you described and go from there.
After replacing my SCV on my astra J 1.7 (i used Denso the original part) i turned the key to ignition and the "dpf is full please continue driving" icon poped up...any ideas why that happened?
Its could be, however, more likely the EGR valve or the DPF is full of soot and dirt. Look online, its easy to take off and clean… if its blocked full of black stuff, clean and go on a long motorway drive (1 hour) at high Revs. Engine needs 50% diesel to do a DPF regeneration.. that was the issue with mine
got a same car with 2012 1.7 LPL cdti and replaced suction valve and pressure at idle gone to 6795psi goes back in limp in cannot find the fuel pimp adjust valve unless its a 2013 model will this adjust itself as still erratically goes into limp in
I have problem only when the car idle. It starts perfect , runs perfect, no stalling, no limp mode. Only when its idle i notice strange engine work , not smooth and the RPM arrow is moving a little . Could it be the same problem?
Great vid this is happening on my 1.3 cdti on idle pleny of power when driving drops around 100rpm lights dim etc. Garage says its normal eco tech system do you think i could have the same problem.
I put a new fuel rail on my astra j cdti 1.7 it starts lumpy kicking out smoke I turn off restart it it runs lumpy but much better then clears it’s self any ideas. I’ve cleaned egr run ok for couple weeks but back to square one please help.
Great video! One question: Do I need to do the calibration on the computer after changing the pump or is it enough to just change out the part and drive? I can change the part but don't have a computer to hook it up. Greatful if you reply!
The pump regulator valve does not always fail, more than 50% of the failures are due to the pressure limiting valve that is in the fuel rail, not the sensor, the limiter is a bolt that protrudes from the common rail rail. It remains open and the ramp pressure drops No siempre falla la válvula reguladora de la bomba, mas del 50% de los fallos son por la válvula limitadora de presion que va en la rampa de combustible, no el sensor, la reguladora, un perno que sobresale de la rampa de common rail.
