Miele Honeycomb Washing Machine W3444 front panel removal to fix fault code caused by internal flood

  • I have this fabulous Miele which has lasted 15 years so far. It has started leaking internally and so I've got used to taking the front of it to remove the water. Maybe you'll find this useful, or suggest to me what might be leaking and how to fix it.
    I have made another video on this channel which shows where the leak comes from.
    There is also a cameo appearance by the cameraman and a seal impression

    Thanks for pointing me towards the solution. I changed it a bit: rather than dismantle the floor panel, I emptied the bottom tray by.... lifting the back of the machine steeply (being super careful to make sure the machine does not slip and fall on its front!), so that all the water in the tray flowed out to the floor in front of the machine. Then I slowly lowered the back of the machine back and moved it back to its place. Same result - no screwdrivers needed. Again - be careful not to slip and not to drop the machine while tilting it! Hold it strong (I am a 195 cm tall 120 kilo guy... ).

    Thanks for the video. Thought about investing in Meile washing machine but heard from friends and appliance retailers they have their faults . I've had 2 Zanussi washing machine 1st lasted 10+years my 2nd is 8 yrs old been through 5 house moves and daily washing and still going strong!!! (is a Meile washing machine worth the £££. To pay top £££ you would expect a machine to run no faults for a lifetime unless caused by the owner coin or other items stuck in machine 😆

    • @Martindyna
      @Martindyna 2 месяца назад

      Good question. It certainly wasn't worth it in the 80s when I believe Zanussi machines were arguably too high quality (Jet System machines were superb) for the price and I assume Electrolux group have put that `right' in recent years with the machines lasting less well than they did.
      It is of course nice to use a high quality machine and you get features that other machines don't offer, e.g. on a Miele you get `Soak' (you can soak really dirty items for between 30 minutes and 6 hours (selectable) at about 30 deg. C with occasional agitation; after the soak period the machine then does the wash cycle selected as usual using the same water).

    I had a leak on mine and kept filling up the bottom panel and the anti flood device would kick in mine is w5748 but very similar to this one! It was the tube at the top of the drum that goes to drawer the steam vent I think it is. Anyway it was full of limescale and stopped the machine draining properly kept spinning full of water causing it to leak out inside it and coming flying out the front of the drawer to... it was unblocked done a few boil washes with machine cleaner the cheep oust one it’s amazing and the kettle one. And it hasn’t done it since I also got a new door seal as it was a bit worn and mouldy. It’s ten years old so hoping it will last another ten years :)

    Hi, I just moved my front cover for the same reason, what I found was a small hole in the large rubber tube/sump hose that comes off the side of the drain pump, I was feeling around the hose and felt a sharp object and found this protruding through the tube in one of the creases, so I would probably check that hose, presume they can degrade over time as well. The other things I think could cause the leak could be is the drain hose from the drain pump all the way to the outlet, possibly a crack in the drain pump, and the only other thing I would think would be the grey door gasket could have hole from a sharp object or wear and tear.
