- Welcome to Nescopeck State Park, where nature's wonders await! The park is located in Drums Pennsylvania located in the northeastern section of Pennsylvania. Today we will hike the Lake Trail and the Woodfrog Loop Trail. We will also show you the visitor and environmental education center. Nestled in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, this hidden gem offers a tranquil escape for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. I filmed this one is early spring. I'm also pretty sure I'm not pronouncing this state park name right and got a bit mixed up.

I filmed this in May. According the park's website, Lake Francis will be drown down starting in June for work on the dam control tower. This work will take place over July, August and September. The plan is for the lake to refill during the month of October. Please keep this in mind if you were planning to hike around the lake, fish, or boat here.

I didn't realize that Orioles made a hanging nest. I'll have to look for those next time, sounds neat. The second trail was so shaded and so many little pools and the creek along the way.

I imagine with the drainage of the lake, one could hike the lake bed looking for fishing tackle. I have never seen an Oriole in the woods. Nice catch! Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. I visited there a couple years ago and hiked the Woodland Way Trail. I was using my old camera, which was malfunctioning, and at home I discovered all my lakeside footage was no good (the clips were 1 or 2 seconds, as the camera stopped filming without me realizing it). Anyway, I was there in winter and the lake was mostly frozen and so beautiful.
That's awesome that you have been here before. I bet this would be a good park to visit in the winter because of all the short trails. I bet the lake looked beautiful frozen. Too bad about your camera footage.
The lake looked very nice, lovely and still and a nice reflection from the looks of it. Liked seeing the fungi on the tree, must have been a lot of tadpoles, will be frogs everywhere before you know it 😊

Another lovely place. Some really straightforward trails to enjoy on a glorious sunny day. We enjoy ferns too and have several varieties in shady parts of our own garden. We have had a lot of tadpoles this year. Best wishes from the UK

This is a park I will eventually get to. It will probably be in the fall though because of the work being done in the summer. I’m glad you mentioned it. I most likely will be doing the lakeside trail. 👍17
It would be really disappointing to go and have the lake drawn down. I bet this place is beautiful in the fall and fairly close to some other great parks too.
When I see that encroaching undergrowth in the start, all I can think of is ticks! The parks passport is a great idea, it seems like they have lots of those in Japan. I am sure it encourages more visitation.
Yes, you need to be careful of ticks here. The grass was long in some spots. I think the idea of the park passports is so much fun. Makes for an inexpensive way to remember the parks and hikes. Thanks for watching.

I wish locations like that one we could stealth camp. I like the little book at the end mine sharing some information about it?
Yes, I follow a channel where a guy does lots of stealth camping and it looks fun. The little book is sold by the PA parks and forest service to benefit the parks and you can collect the stamps at each park you visit.

Yes, exactly! I come up to this area quite a bit but I usually go to Hickory Run instead. I really liked this park, so I will be back.
Up at 1am watching this because my new Sea to Summit air mattress failed. This is on the 3rd use. I put air in it 3 times and within 30 minutes it is flat. Over 200.00 and I am not happy. Anyway , loving this video with a hurting back and hips 😢. The beautiful scenery helps and thanks for the video. 6:42
Oh no!! That's awful about the air mattress. Hope you can get a refund. I'm glad you're getting a distraction with this video! My son had to go to the ER this week. He's doing much better now, but while we were waiting for the Dr, we watched RUclips and it was a great distraction and calming.
Some parts of the trail look a bit overgrown, the bird sighting is always welcome.

That looked like an amazing place to hike and explore. There's an old survival-tip for lost hikers that claims moss only grows on the north side of a tree. I'm curious if that was the case with the trees you showed. Great video.
