I haven't mained ranger since PoF. This build is insanely fun, quite powerful, and very survivable! Now I can't stop playing my ranger. lol Awesome build, thank you so much!
My first char was Ranger, and for a long time it was my favorite proffesion. As time progressed, I switched to Necro, Engi and most recently Revenant for open world. However, this build makes me play Ranger once more!
Thank you! Been using a condi soulbeast for more than 6months now. I tend to always stay merged, never checked nor considered using We heal as one because i thought the buff transfer wont get triggered since im merged all the time.
I hope one day the archives will show gw2 as one of the most innovative mmos. I hope arenanet will be around long into the future. Leading people back to this gem.
It's already known for that. The actual problem is no one knows about GW2 in the first place, due to no effective marketing and it's hyper casual focus.
Awesome build it seems. Last few weeks I was trying to come up with hybrid/condi soulbeast. If you dont mind different stats, then taking one pet other than deadly will give you different beast skill on swap = more quickness. Eg: spider and jaccaranda.
Thank you for the video. I know that making sure all buttons are on CD is the général rotation hehe, but any advice on the opening rotation ? I was thinking using longer cd firsts, but there must be a better synergy hehe. Thanks !
You get a 4 sec damage boost after dodging or using shortbow 3. So trying to maintain this for the opener, and throughout the fight is always a solid idea. Don't "waste" dodges for the sake of having the buff, though. Especially against tough enemies. All of your utility skills give you a massive boost, and your healing skill will prolong their effects. So feel free to cast them when running towards your next target. As for the weapon skills, prioritise shortbow 2 (especially when standing close to your enemy), as that one will be your hardest hitter.
Nice, I changed to this from viper sb and i feel unkillable compared to last build. trading the damage for survivability has made the game alot more fun, its also got the flex factor of being able to facetank some tougher stuff at point blank with a short bow lmao
Awesome! Yeah, it serves pretty well as an all-purpose build for anything in the open world. The only weakness is core tyria structures, as those don't take condi damage 😅
Great build! Would this be viable for PVE instanced content? If so, would it need any changes? Then, not that I put too much emphasis on this, but what numbers does it do in terms of dps? Thank you!
Thanks! If you'd like to take this to instanced content, there's some changes we should make, as we'll be relying on our team to provide us with our buffs: take out Moa Stance, Quickening Zephyr, and your ult. In my test I replaced them with sharpening stone, spike trap, and entangle. The Beast Mastery Trait line should be changed to Wilderness Survival (bottom - top - bottom traits), and the grandmaster Soulbeast trait to Oppressive Superiority (bottom trait). If you want to be more of a teamplayer, you could go for Leader of the Pack and take One Wolf Pack for your ult, instead. I'd also recommend changing the Celestial gear to Viper's, as this would be more stat efficient in Instanced content as well. I was hitting around 25k dps on the golem with these changes (with Entangle + Oppressive Superiority). We could potentially get the number higher, as I wasn't using food or utilities, and it might be worth trying to cap Bleed Duration by making some more changes. At that point it comes close to the meta condi soulbeast build on most buildsites, though.
Since Trapper is used in most group content, I'd recommend to keep those actually. I you want to hyper specialize and max out bleeding, Krait would be a solid option.
I've been experimenting a bit more with Druid, which seems to be more tanky and despite most of the damage being bleeding, stacks up real well against champions.
the problem is having to get another gear set T_T , this is why I want a build that can be used in raids and openworld that isnt celestial and does the job nicely. The closest I could find was maces ranger till they were nerfed@@phandrel
@@phandrel I don't have celestial asc armor, but I still have to buy exotic achiev armor for the legendary armor, which I think has selectable stats. So I think I'll try this build. XD

Decided to play my seldom used Ranger with this Soulbeast build and immediately loved it! Thank you so much for this!

Hopefully they by then they've fixed the issue with unfair buffs and nerfs

Good point! Jacaranda also comes with incredible tagging potential, works with almost any build imo.

I am new to Guild wars and well the char I made is an asura ranger, will this work for that race ??
Yep! Races in GW2 don't really matter and are mostly aesthetic :)

@@Finn1e Did you try that ? I can't get higher than 13-16k with that setup : (

@@BuryZenek Should work more than fine too! Anything with condition damage and either poison or bleed works with this build :)
Yo, Phan, when are we getting that sweet Cele Hammer Mechanist build? :P
I gotta get on that, true!
what about the accessories?
I ran a full cele setup (incl accessories) in the video, but if you want to go more offensive, Viper's works perfectly fine as well.
hard to choose from this or SB herald, both look cool :3
Both also offer different strengths and playstyle, but I get the dillema :D
2:50 looks like it struggles against large mobs, as expected. still intriguing though
