Here is a little story about the Next Stop Announcement in NXWM/NXC
Next Stop Announcement(NSA) in National Express Bus were introduced in 2011, for the hybrid bus that runs on the 1 in Wolverhampton.
The platinum brand was introduced in 2015, which they rolled out the NSA on 900(now X1) and 957(now X2). More platinum routes were rolled out at the following years and all of them got NSA, including three(used to be four) routes in Coventry which is operated by NXC.
Electric and Hydrogen buses in NXWM, which introduced in 2020 and 2021 respectively, are built in platinum spec, are with NSA equipment fitted. There are mainly around 1-3 routes in each garage, that is not platinum branded, got the data ofnext stop announcement. The excat reason of this is currently unknown but it is more convenient to the passengers.
In 2023, the next stop announcement is rolled out on every routes in Coventry, including school routes(apart from 24's and 25's). But ironically the NSA in NXC are no longer work properly at at E034+ since they enter service from Sept 2022, and on the platinums and E021-2019 after they updated the software in Jan 2023, as the voice would freeze after it runs for a certain time. The issue is still not fixed as of the latest version at Oct 2023.

Just a few things you missed out.
The Volvo Hybrids also have NSA equipment installed but it is no longer operational having not been updated since they were replaced on the 22/23/24, most just display test messages on the screen.
The initial 2015 batch and possibly the 2016 batch of Platinums, initially used a male voice for announcements before it was replaced by the current female voice.
The Acocks Green 5 is the only route at Acocks Green to be allocated Platinum buses, as that’s why they kept 6701-6710 when they were debranded from the X12, although nowadays the brand is used more interchangeably than ever with standard specification buses.
0:22 my beloved 6
Bingo!
I miss the number one old announcement

❤
Thats a lot to birmingham
I love this competition
This was so entertaining I watched it whole
Yay
Surprising that the 400 Hybrids have NSA!
Most of them doesn't work now unfortunately
@@bv52_eno Yeah I remember going on the 400 Hybrids with BC when I was a kid but i barely remember anything lol
Do u mean B5LH? E400 Hybrids never ran on BC, and B5LH had NSA aswell
@@bv52_eno Nah. Back in 2014 BC used to have 400 Hybrids, if you don’t believe me i’ll send u a pic on discord
rip all those screens
I was on the 82 when this was recorded lmao
x21 has a sunday service where it goes to merry hill and replaces the 002 (Merry Hill - Weoley Castle) bus route
They don't have NSA on Merry Hill ones for some reason
Cool can u do it again
5 is Platnum normally and 51 os Hydrogen route
They both are techically not platinum route but they got the announcement programmed for some reason.
@@bv52_eno 51 is a Platnium route now when WA got the Hydrogens for it and the X51, though I believe at the time the Hydrogens weren't cleared to run to Cannock so they Primarily stayed on the 51 with the X51 getting it's usual MMC's also there isn't Hydrogens available in service at once to do both routes plus the 997 so the 51 has the MMC's with the X51 and Hydrogens when it gets them, the 74 in West Bromwich also gets Platnium's no idea if it has Announcements some Routes do get them even if they aren't Platnium routes, all buses are due to get Next Stop Announcements soon due to new regulations coming in
The hydrogens aren't running at the moment
@@bv52_eno I know but the 51 is a Platnium route now believe it was because of Sprint because it was the 51 and the X1 to be paired up, however Sprint isn't open, the plan was for Hydrogen Artics, but Hydrogen Double Deckers were chosen whilst Sprint was delayed. As the X1 is Platnium the 51 had to become Platnium to although why they couldn't just use the X51 although Sprint to me is a waste of time. The Quickest way is the Train
Coventry ones really sound more robotic
Perry Barr and Yardley Wood got the robotic voice now in case you don't know
@bv52_eno what are the full list of Bham routes with the new next stop announcements?
How come we only have termination announcements on the slightly older electric buses nx coventry not the new ones?
The new one do have terminate announcement as well!
Btw that announcement was recorded on an E400MMC, not the electrics.
@@bv52_enooh on the 13 in Coventry it never has a terminate announcement I guess it’s only on some routes and ahh not the electric ones
I think the drop off stop for the 13 in town doesn't programmed as the last stop.
@@bv52_eno yeah in willehnall it doesn’t either must be certain routes
The 51 announcements highlight just how bad the speaker quality is on the wright's buses, well their quality in general, but yeah.
Same sentence as the London buses but only it’s a different voice
Where is NXWM 7, 8A/E/C?
No announcements are available for the 7 and 8A/8C.
