Excellent video on your grading of cut agate into differing price points of affordability. I am learning quite a bit in a short time from watching your videos. Thank you for posting them!!
It's interesting to see behind the scenes. Online you always get to see amazing agates, but seldom do you get to see how much work goes into finding that small percentage of amazing agates.
I like that you can bring the lesser agates to shows and sell them easily. I do not think people realize that this is your job, how you make your living. I was surprised to see how many agates you cut and how few make the website.
As Joshua knows, I'm a passionate banded agate collector. My now retired elderly parent's, however, were coin dealers and collectors for a great many decades. I have always been struck by the similarities around these two collecting hobbies. In particular, how grading affects pricing due to condition, scarcity, attractiveness/flawlessness and a general pleasing of the eye. You need to get the attention of coin collectors Joshua, they will all instantly understand the pricing factors you have just described in this excellent summary video.
I like the 10 euro Malawi agates. They are just the size I need. I cut them and polish them and turn them into a necklace in combination with other stones or pearls. Turn out very nice, but the last months I had no time because I moved to another home. I send the E mail later
Affordable agate sounds great, Joshua! Personally, I'm also interested in how much you charge for cutting a fossilised Stückchen Meeresboden that one bring oneself with a diameter of ungefähr 18 cm, .........if you're even willing to do that 😅🙏 Bitte? If it depends on the hardness, just let me know what it costs for Feuerstein. I don't have 'em any harder 😅 Thanks for the video ❤

Unfortunately I don’t do custom works in my workshop, and my saw is not big enough to cut a 18cm piece.. 😬
