    My arms have been flabby for a couple of decades. Then I decided to Fix. That. So everything time I wash my hands in the bathroom, I put my hands on the edge of the counter and do a few "pushups ". A few months of that and my arms are noticeably firm and slimmer.

      I do weights too and really enjoy it, you can buy weighted wrist weights that you fasten with velcro and you don't even know you're doing weights, just wear them for an hour or so

      Exactly.... I think after a certain age, we just need to be ok with how our bodies look; and focus on health and fitness that is age appropriate. I am 64 and still work out. I sometimes show my arms and legs and sometimes I don't. But who cares???

      I personally think that sneakers are not attractive at all, except for working out in them. I do wear Birkenstock shoes but I have a very small foot. I don't think my feet look huge at all. I think people vary on what they like. Nada has her opinions and we all have our own. I think many of Nada's opinions are valid, but when I am mostly at home, I wear what is comfortable. When I go out, I still want comfort, but I consider style a bit more.

      I’ve been wearing Birkenstocks for 10 years! It also helps that my feet are quite small for my height. But you may can take my Birkenstocks off my cold dead feet. 😂 Actually, I might go ahead and purchase those cobalt blue ones I’ve been eying.

  • @luluandmeow
    @luluandmeow 11 месяцев назад +5

    Love your earrings btw. I'm 58 and have flabby arms, I also have a great collection of t-shirts that I stopped wearing because of my bingo wings. But last summer I found a great way of re-wearing my beloved Ts. I wear them under my long-sleeved denim shirt dress, leaving several top buttons undone so the graphics on the t-shirts can be seen, the dress also comes with a belt so it doesn't look shapeless. I think it's a great look that I've never seen anywhere else. Another way to wear a t-shirt is to simply wear a fitted cardigan over it and leave the buttons undone, and yes, I always tuck in sweaters and t-shirts, I am slim but I always have a tummy so my way of disguising it is with a great short jacket over my outfit, e.g. a Chanel type boucle jacket in a neutral timeless colour (navy, etc.)

    I understand that lace jackets may not be stylish, but with 106 degree temps and high humidity, it is nearly impossible to wear a blazer in the heat of the summer. The lace/crochet does offer much needed ventilation. What would you recommend for sweltering climates? I love your channel!

    Thank you 👍🏻💐 I just like my sweaters, blouses, shirts end between hip and waist, not tugged. Why? Because it might look good from front or even back, hoever nerven ever I saw anybodys profile looking good with tugged in anything. It makes the tummy area look like it is bulging, not flattering at all.

    • @NadaManley
      @NadaManley  11 месяцев назад +2

      @@NadaManley thank you Dear Nada, thinking back I found some nice inspiration in your videos already. Now that you told me, most cropped pieces should enter my wardrobe.

    • @psyche8187
      @psyche8187 3 месяца назад +1

      I totally agree. The problem is pants, because they usually don’t hit the smallest part of your waist. So you’re just highlighting a larger section of your waist. You have to be VERY slim for shirts tucked into pants to not make your waist look larger in profile. I find tucking into jeans is the worst because of the bulk of the stuff fabric and button. I tuck shirts into skirts and it works fine. Because they can be adjusted up or down to the smallest part of your waist.

    I do wear all my tops and sweaters out over my tummy as I don’t know what else to do. I am very uncomfortable with it on show. I am a petite pear with a reasonable waist, size 10 tops UK but I have lower belly fat that won’t budge and I don’t like anything I wear unfortunately.

  • @ckoskimies
    @ckoskimies 11 месяцев назад

    Great advice again.I agree on everything except the front tucking of sweaters.I do not really have a big tummy but jeans with their zippers layered fabric automatically add bulky my tummy from the side view and tucking will only emphasise that. If you on the other hand let the back of your sweater creep up as when you sit.you still get a bit of a waist definition even in front as it creeps up on the sides as well. Plus you get emphasis on the small of your back which everybody seems to forget by having bulkiy material covering your whole back side. Am I just imagening this?

    • @luluandmeow
      @luluandmeow 11 месяцев назад

      I buy cropped sweaters or cover the outfit with a slightly longer jacket, e.g. tweed Chanel type jacket. I've also come to terms with having a little tummy, I'll never be one of those women with a flat one even though I'm slim

    Thank you for really great advice but it would have been helpful to see more positive examples of great jackets and layering, stylish but comfortable shoes- imo the ones you showed are not much better than the ones you criticised. I have wide feet and bought some beautiful boots from Hobbs in the UK, their Imogen boots, both ankle and knee length are as comfortable as slippers, elegant and timeless, they have great sales too. Whenever I come across footwear that's elegant and comfortable I buy multiples

    I would say i have a stronger upper body. Although my measurements for bust and hip are only 1 inch difference. I don't have big arms, but they are getting crepey at 68. I feel heavier on my top half though I am not overweight. I am only 5'1" (used to be 5'2") until menopause. I have a short torso, always had a wide ribcage which makes my bra measure larger around. I do not care for prints and wearing them on a jacket for me is tabu. It would just draw attention to the top half. I do not wear two-piece matching outfits. I would break the pieces up and wear them with something else. Can you do a video or have you already on how to measure for bra size. I have done it from other sites and bought a bra and did not like it. I need underwire for support as I am a D cup. Also, shoes are not my friend. I have had bunion surgeries in my 50's, but they are back. I just had a TKR 3 months ago and even with the low heel it is difficult to stand very long if I'm going to an event. I wear sneakers elsewhere. I so enjoy your videos and with this one I especially agree with about everything!

    I think one of the worst styles I have seen is sleeveless sweater sets. The shell is sleeveless and cardigan is a traditional button up. What about the long knee length cardis Talbots sold about 3 years ago which were worn with a tucked blouse and slacks. I do cover arms but I also freeze. Air conditioning is frigid! Wearing a blazer in summer would burn me up. Many thanks. ❤
