This sounds like it's in the US. If so, the hospital is a mandated reporter. They probably did and are opening a case. Also, a restraining order isalso meant to protect them even if MIL is reported. If they are seen to give MIL access to the baby, they could have her taken away. So, I assume that they are doing everything right but are so stressed out that they didn't type everything.
Is she insane? I would’ve called the police and pressed charges because the baby could’ve passes from an allergic reaction. I wouldn’t want anything to do with that woman after that day she is dangerous and have real issues. Her hatred caused her to do something very harmful to the child . Why is she so pressed about the baby not have blonde hair? At least she has her dad’s blue eyes and her mom’s hair color. This is why once you see the mother in law doesn’t like you, always assume she doesn’t like your baby, and never trust them a lone with the baby. I had an evil mother-in-law too that pepper sprayed me while holding my baby and it got on my baby because I knew she aimed it at her too. I never want anything to do with those people again. I am so glad I left them behind years ago. And I never left my kids a lone with those racist people after that incident I just permanently removed them from my life along with their son.
Not a good idea about CPS. I agree with the Police option though. Thing is she was focused on bringing safety for her baby so she cut ties with the crazy woman asap. The restraining order is a good idea, also not sure what the police could do...
CPS would’ve just made the mothers life a nightmare as it wasn’t even remotely her fault and cps only focuses on where the child lives and nothing else and will start investigating the innocent family members who don’t need to be put through that. CPS gets weaponized by narcissistic fckwits who think doing that will “get back at the caregivers” of said child and I’ve been through both scenarios and don’t involve cps in a case like this, the restraining order is enough and I’d add a cease and desist atst for good measure.
Hospitals are mandatory reporters, no doc would have seen a 6 month old baby with dyed hair and a severe allergic reaction and NOT called the cops. As much as I like the story, I call BS
@@BaeBunni absolutely because CPS would have been immediately involve and they love to make sure you know they can and will make sure you never see your kid again. if CPS is involved cops are involved, if cops get involved, CPS isn't far behind
Best thing is, she didn't act like a crazy person. She saw her baby was hurt. Panicked and went into mom mode, and when the problem starter/almost killer of her child was around. She did the mom response. The only issue I can see is that could look rough in court that she tride to beat her ass. Only a problem to a mentally disabled judge.
I see a ton of comments about why weren't the police called. Why would Op know about a police report when she would be a potential suspect for child abuse? It's pretty common for abused children to be brought to the hospital because they can't rat the kid out put the parents still get investigated. Usually it happens with babies that have shaken baby syndrome, but the hospital and police wouldn't tell Op anything till they determined that there are no other records of her taking the child to other hospitals for similar health issues.
Atleast the FIL has some sense, I respect that. Normally people will always choose the partner even though they’ve done something unforgivable, But the FIL divorced her.
The mother is at fault too, tbh. Her MIL has been waving a giant red flag left right and center, but she left her child in her MIL's care anyway. She didn't bleach her daughter's hair but she was the one who put the child in that situation in the first place.
Op didn’t have any other options. Her mom and dad were in the hospital and her husband was out of state. She can’t really just bring her child with to the hospital.
@@Salad_Cat11 friends?? Baby sitters?? Neighbors?? And why *can't* she bring her child to the hospital? Risk of contracting illness? The hospital is where the child ended up anyway because OP couldn't think of literally anyone else to leave her child with but her openly racist MIL.
@@bnd2nddepending on her area, some hospitals have a rule that for visitations, kids under the age of 13 are recommended/actively encouraged to not be brought with you. Why in the heck weren't the police called?
Maybe bc the main focus at that moment was to save the daughter not punish the mother in law just yet
@@FelipeEchavarria-ko9ot Well yeah, but at the hospital? The hospital should have.
@@aleshiatorres475 Again, they where too worried about their agonizing daughter to have the police officers interview em

All I can say is no one would have been able to pull me off her
She would have felt my rage for sure! Attack is an understatement! 🥵🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
If I watched this I would’ve just turned the other way and went “Welp I saw nothing”

It's probably fake because they went to social media over the cops.

Why wasn't CPS or the cops were called the hospital? It's a clear case of child abuse!
