- I've heard a lot of people complain about issues connecting their Tactacam Reveal cameras to their phones. I decided to make this quick video to illustrate how simple it really is.
Your Reveal X/XB/SK camera does not need to be activated, if it is a new camera, add the password when prompted.
Step by Step this short video illustrates how to connect your camera painlessly.

Do you need something added to your phone plan or is just wifi that connects to the phone? How's the battery life when everything is connected?
Nothing on your phone changes. If you wish to have pictures sent to your phone, you pay Tactacam a fee. You can use these cameras without having pictures sent to your phone, you only connect to the wifi to change settings or to position the camera.
@@After5Outdoors Can you access the SD card through your phone if you connect directly to the camera, or is the only way to do it is pulling the SD card. without having to pay damn fees.

Just had one of their cameras go bad after six months. After some confusion on their part they finally sent me a new one under warranty. At the moment I'm not getting connected to cell service with their camera. I get one red bar on the camera and 4 bars on my cell phone sitting in my living room. I've even tried a different antenna with no luck.
My property is 300 feet deep, I've walked from one end to the other. Walked to the highest point on the property and the lowest. Best it'll do is one red bar. Probably on my 20th try to get connected to Verizon cell tower.
I'm going to the deer property tomorrow to put it up, it's 2 hours away. I'll try it again and if it doesn't work I'll call them and see what we can work out to get this connected.
While I know they want their cameras to work, I'm kind of wishing I'd gone with another Covert instead.
Hope it works for you. I've got 6 of them now. I haven't had any issues like that, and hope I don't. Out of curiosity, which model do you have?

My biggest issue is cel service in these hills. That's why I bought a drone that doesn't use my phone & still have trouble getting GPS. 😂
In that case a cell camera probably is not feasible
I have never gone thru the manual wifi steps that you show at first (with the screen shots). I've always just put the camera in Setup mode, my wifi and location are already on, then go into the app and go through those 3 steps, and I'm connected.
My app prompts me to do so in that order
My app doesn’t see that my Wi-Fi is on… it’s crazy. Just all of a sudden it won’t let me past step 2
Make sure you connect your phone to the camera. So turn wifi on phone, wait til phone finds camera, it can take up to a minute. Your location must be on too
@@After5Outdoors Thanks. I’ve connected my phone to these cams hundreds of times. Then today out of the blue I can’t connect. The app tells me to turn on my Wi-Fi, but it’s on. I deleted and re-added the app a few times, changed my privacy settings on and off but nothing helped. Then finally decided to turn re-start my phone and voila, it works again. Crazy tech!

You should be a to use the code on the camera to log in
I did all of this and it didn't work
There could be an issue with the camera, but it took me awhile to get it right. Try putting your phone on airplane mode first once.
why can i not activate my cam with out a plan,,
I've not yet figured that out, it's kinda like a hidden activation fee.... to get the correct date and time you must activate it also. So I've been activating them and then suspending them for now.
@@After5Outdoors i def will not buy another one, i finally got a plan and it running... butdefam thinking of returning it..should not have to go through so much BS just to get the camera running

Wifi will not blink , even after the reset
Must be a software issue on that one
@@After5Outdoors I get the cell bars illuminated , it is just the wifi will not blink blue. Last worked December 5, and I cannot seem to get it connected again. It was brilliant until then.
Hmm. Take batteries out and reset? Grasping at straws but
My WiFi light won’t blink either. Did you ever get that fixed?
@@DanielleLopez-Carter yes after talking to their technicians I was told to buy a proper memory card. My old card worked fine for over a year so I thought they were crazy. I ordered and installed one that met all their specs and the darn thing worked, been working fine ever since.
Try a new card and see what happens , I have no idea why old one wouldn't work anymore.
