What is the point of this thing? The whole purpose of a ball is to allow a gimbal movement both horizontally and vertically. Locking it to just one axis just puts more stress and wear on all other hitch components.

Hello! This is something that is actually very crucial for some of our customers who have some issues when installing our unit. In some cases, the customer can be installing everything correctly but still has a loose ball. When you install our unit to your trailer it needs to be very tight so that the ball does not slip out of the coupler. We have found out that it can be your tongue nut on your coupler that needs to be tightened, and this is how you do it. Please feel free to reach out to support@trailervalet.com or give us a call at 844 846 9344 if you have any further questions about this, thank you!
