I am so glad that you have found your peace in temple hunting. I was/am working through my inner demons during my time in the U.S. Army and now post military life. I found that during my time in while stationed in Germany, visiting Castle Ruins all over Europe helped me get through depression and Suicidal thoughts. Also, right after retiring out of the Army, right before returning to the U.S., I went straight to SEASIA (since flight was cheaper) and spent a month in Cambodia and Thailand visiting temple Ruins. That got me through bad dreams. Now that I am back in the U.S., I long for more ruins and learning its histories through my own research. A lot of my research of ruins in Cambodia led me to your RUclips channel. And I love tour contents! I hope to one day return to Cambodia. It's my family root. By the way, Koh Ker is my favorite ruin in Cambodia. I just love its mystery.
It sounds like our journeys are not too dissimilar. I started in hell and ended up crawling my way to heaven. I have never been happier. If I may, I would like to give you some advice. The best thing I ever did was stop taking alcohol , it is a depressant. It does no good at all even in the smallest of doses. The problem with it is it does stop you getting good quality sleep. To me sleep is God. If you sleep well then you are so much better prepared for whatever life For may throw it to you.. If you ever return to Cambodia, please do let me know. I do like to meet people. I hope to return to Cambodia in a year or two. I had a wonderful time there. My father passed away back in 2020. He escaped the war in Cambodia. He was drafted by the U.S. Army to fight the Khmer Rouge, and was a prisoner of war there. My grandfather was also drafted but sadly died in the war. It was my first time in Cambodia. And to meet his brothers and sisters for the first time. I felt at peace seeing how they all looked like him and made me feel like oart of the family. Battambang (where they are all located) has my heart. I would love to connect with you whenever I make it back to Cambodia. I also have a background on graphic design and photography. It would be an honor to go on one adventure with you and be your cameraman for a day, if you will allow me the honor. -Phirun

It was an amazing end to a day for a had been hard travelling, and the Temple was not so much, but that sunset was the real gift of the gods
