I was fortunate enough to have Brenda sing this to me personally in the early 80's when she lived in Islington, North London. What an incredible voice.
Brilliant the whole package amazing George Martin involved as well production side as well as Paul McCartney playing instruments for Fillet of Soul version , wonderful voice and groovy instruments 🎸🤩😍🔥♥️💯🧞♀️
The performance was apparently a compromise, as McCartney (co-writer) wouldn't allow the song to be used unless Wings (his band) performed it over the opening titles... even though it was a Blaxploitation-type movie with a cast to reflect it. What a prince!
Wikipedia: "Having recorded McCartney's performance, Martin was taken aback when Saltzman asked him who he thought should sing the film's title song, suggesting to him Thelma Houston. Saltzman had envisaged a female soul singer. Martin said that it should be McCartney.[2] He nonetheless scored a soul arrangement to accompany singer B. J. Arnau for a nightclub sequence in the film".

Hollowway Road...I used to go round her flat.
Me too. Great voice and a very interesting lady.
Incredible voice. No wonder Roger Moore was mesmerized as disappeared from sight in the Fillet of Soul while she sang this.👌
Nothing in the world is better than Paul's version, but this IS still awesome.
Love this version!!!

I think when its playing bond drops through the floor in the fillet of soul.

great version rip ms arnau🙏🏻🙏🏻
Interesting interpretation of this classic Paul McCarthy Wings song. Sounds like it belongs in a movie jazz nightclub scene or maybe a car chase.
Que genia!!!!!!!!
With due respect to Sir Paul, the song's author...but 'this'.... is the BEST version.
I agree. Nothings beat B.J.Arnau's version. Gives me chills every time she sings the chorus.

i almost prefer this version to pauls take. both are good though
Better than Mccartney. His ego didn t allow her to sing his song in the movie.
She did sing it in the movie.
