The paper kits might also be good on backdrops. You could mount them on some foam core to get a bit of depth and then attach to the backdrop.

Where do you get your different size card/paper? When I go to CNA/Postnet they are lost

I got it at PNA. Just ask for 160gsm A4 paper...

I have been using card and paper kits for many years and I have to slightly disagree with you on the durability which I have found to be superb. Some of my models are over 15 years old and still going strong. I have also used LED lighting in many of my models, most of which have clear windows. Scalescenes and Metcalfe Models produce some fabulous stuff but they tend to be based very much on British buildings. You should have a look at their web pages and possibly pick up some great ideas for expansion of your range.
