Well i booked going to Canada from Boston because i Live in Massachusetts. Already did Boston to Bermuda. What can i expect in October. Assuming the pools are closed but what about the hot tubs ? Ive done several cruises but only one in winter before.
We just got off the Gem last week. It was disappointing. There were to many nights where there was to few shows or they were terrible. One example is the versus show in Spinniker on Thursday. WOW was it terrible! Also, the golf ranges only had lefty irons. No woods or right handed clubs. Both basketball hoops have bent rims. Many of the shuffle board courts didn’t have pucks or sticks. We finally found one that did have both and the sticks kept breaking. It was annoying! Like mentioned in another comment, the cruise director was nonexistent. Finally, the first 2 days, nobody on the ship had any tv. It was broken for some reason. Also, our shower had the worst pressure ever. We showered in water that trickled out of the shower head. Now I don’t want people to think I didn’t like this cruise. I did! However, I was just disappointed about a few things.
A floating hotel that takes you for a ride in more ways than one. It boils down to whether you want to part with your money for this experience over and over. It either works for you or it doesn't. It's not for everybody. BUT.... you don't know until you try it.
@@bruce274 Having a bad day, bunkie? You should go take a cruise and see if it cheers you up. Is that more to the point for you? I didn't want to pee on those that like cruises, so I made a neutral comment. I'll pass on cruising. But I didn't know it until I tried it. Are ya good now? If not, TS!
This is a mid-size ship and caters to a different crowd than Maga ships. Personally, I think it's important to choose the right cruise for you. Over the last 36 years of cruising, our likes have changed a few times. Norwegian started the Freestyle Cruising around 2003 and now most lines (except luxury lines???) have some form of this. We sailed on this ship first week in May from Boston to Bermuda. I have to say it was the worst cruise (this was our 4th) so far. Some of the servers had a bit of an attitude mostly at O’Shehans. The person who seated us really did not like her job and it showed. Also I ordered the French toast and it was stone cold. The Magenta was not much better. I will say the food in the buffet was very good. Got kinda sick of listening to Brazilian music all the time. Could not understand one word the were singing. The only time you knew there was a cruise director was when she was making an announcement or when she would appear at the end of one of the shows. The wait staff on deck was extremely lacking. It was like they tried to save money by not hiring enough people. We’ve sailed with Norwegian in the past and had a great time. I just hope this has not become the norm.
“Grab a drink” he keeps saying lol, basically keep getting drunk and destroy your liver and get cancer and eat processed bad food. Hope they have something healthy on board lol

I went on this ship in 2016, it was awesome! Had great shows and good food.

Cruising on the Gem for the first time in February 2025! Can’t wait to see it all in person!
I just came home and loved it ! I went from Boston to Bermuda.

I recognize my friends in this cruise !!!😮
Are the pools salt water?
Yes.

Well that was a lot of nothing that you just said

Do you give the discounts to solo travelers?
is the hibachi included with the price of the cruise or is it specialty dining?
Specialty. I ate it on the Joy. It wasn't good. Left most of the food on my plate. But definitely try it for yourself.
Hi! Can I purchase with you if I’m not from the US?
What about Epic??? 🤔
Looks mostly like a bunch of specialty restaurants, exclusive areas, and bars.
yeah unfortunately not a ton of “fun” on board if that makes sense

I just got home June 28th. The staff were very nice. I want to go again, but I hope it isn’t a hit or miss.

please do yourself a favor and go on any other cruise line. Terrible experience just got off this morning.

It's vacation. You can be healthy at home.

This looks incredibly boring. Like a strip mall of only mediocre restaurants.
That’s a pretty ignorant opinion.
It’s an accurate opinion. It’s a boring ship. Deal with it.
