I don't think that the address was switched personally I think most likely the construction company don't want to admit to the mistake I'm not paying attention
Ok so let me get this straight. The neighbors really believe he isnt owed compensation for his home being destroyed.... If the house wasn't in a condemnable state but needed repair it's still worth something. The homeowner could also make the argument that the house was going unde repair and renovation. A lawyer could have easily presented that as a case for restitution.
LOL, crack house or not that was someone else's property, the people just don't want to pay for it with their tax money... But really who knocked down the wrong home, the contractor or did the city do it? Contractor needs to pay up, they screwed up it sounds like it. BUT someones house was destroyed weather it met everyone elses approval or not and we all know if it was their shack that got squashed they too would want a mansion to replace it LOL.
Not the fault of the cuty its the fault of the guy who changed the address numbers, he will likely get sued and be told he has to pay the guy whose house he had torn down but hes likely broke, then comes the criminal charges of fraud which will land him in prison, sad to say the guy who's house got torn down probably would never see a dime
@@RandomRandomnessKCMO yeah I can agree with that but wtf they say he shouldn't get a dime? The fuck is wrong with them that was demolished property that was a crime and that's how they react? What a bunch of pieces of shit.
Yeah I'd say they owe him a house as well or money. It may not of been in the best shape but it could of been sold to a flipper who would of made it live-able. even a crappy house as long as the foundation it's on and as long as it has good bones can be fixed back up.
Right?! I know ppl just act like "oh it was crap who cares if it got torn down?" They destroyed his property! My friend insisted when they had to move their landlord should have tore the house down because the foundation needed to be fixed. Literally it was an easy fix. Guy sold it for 30000 and it was flipped. They just sold it for 80,000. Ppl have no business sense!
So they don’t doublecheck before putting the excavator into a house? Just 2 digits on a piece of paper is all that makes them run into a property without doublechecking? I hope i never get to live in a town with such system.
A surgeon marks the site of the proposed surgery in consultation with the patient before the patient is wheeled into the operating suite. Some competent person should spray paint a big X on the house the day before and someone else should confirm.
If you actually watched the video, you would have noticed how they apparently had the wrong address, because the guy whos house was going to be torn down, supposedly changed it. GPS would have done nothing but point them to whatever address they had, which was the wrong one.
TBH if u own anything and the government destroys it without your permission, you deserve to be paid for it. If a citizen did this to a house, they would have to pay for the damage they caused and go to jail
If only you actually understood anything about GPS and/or geographic coordinate system... The guy actually changed "address numbers". That's that that small plate with house number printed on it. You see, I'm talking geographic coordinates, for example, Pontiac Michigan: 42°38′46″N 83°17′33″W. That's the proper way to do it. But even if they entered street and house number, GPS would take them to correct hose because the guy couldn't change numbers in GPS app. database.
Did no one realize that a lawbreaker who lived right in their neighborhood illegally switched address numbers and got into trouble for doing that as per the news report? Had they watched the news, they would've realized that they targeted a law-abiding citizen instead of going after the lawbreaker and brought him/her/them to justice.
To the people in this video: You should all be in jail for forcing a demolition crew to tear down the home of an innocent person instead of going after the true criminal who switched housing numbers in the first place.
The Homeowner should buy the bloke who changed the address and the Demolition bloke a case of beer each, they have done him a big favour and saved him money. The vacant land is worth more than land with a house that needs demolition, the taxes will reduce as they are charged on improved value, the maintenance costs are now lower and the property won't attract any building violation penalties. So it's a win-win for that homeowner. Also I hope the poor Demolition Co gets paid for both houses as it's obviously not their fault.
Well it was a mistake so something should be made good. But it seems weird that a fellow would be fixing it up half the time, but the other half it's talked about as being squatted in. No serious attempt to lock it up? Or he's actually letting friends use it?
Well, the neighbor thought the house should be torn down that it wasn't worth anything that's his opinion. What if his house got torn down i'm sure it was a taj mahal
Its his home and was no slated to be taken down. How u know its not worth nothing some ppl like to take law into own handa. U 5ore mine down so will yours in time to come
Well, you've shown ignorance, and now, you've removed any doubt from equation. Even if they entered normal address and house number, GPS would take them to correct house. And "most people" are civilians, not civil engineers, especially those in charge of demolishing other people's houses.
most people who use GPS, just put in an address, not specific coordinates. Lmao I like how you automatically assume i know nothing about how GPS works. Your funny xD
I could tell by the construction (plaster and lath) that the house was extremely old! I'm glad they tore the sucker down! I wish more of these would be torn down -- and that goes for any house built before 1960.
Jeff If it’s not your property then how on earth do you think to have to say anything about it having to be torn down or not? It’s like saying that i think your face is ugly so i wish it would receive some punches.
Wow what? Then go buy your own house and mind yo buisness because my buisness is buying an old house and do not care how it is I will restore it and it ain’t a sucker some people like it that way do for god ever have a spirit your heart?
Eyesore or not, the town owes the man money. They demolished a house illegally.
It should have been criminal.
No, they didn't, they demolished the house with the address they were given. The shady owner changed the house numbers trying to save his crackhouse.

Bet the neighbors wouldn't be saying that if it was their house. Who's ever responsible for this owns the owner a new house.
The owner needs to be paid , the neighbor saying he shouldn't be paid wouldn't be saying that if it was his house
You recon that guy drinks beer?
WHEREISTHEREASON he likes 12 packs apparently!
I can only imagine his Beer Math for yard work - and I love it! I don't drink myself, but I've always been a friend of the (responsible) drinking man.

Their property, their rights. Cities shouldn't be allowed to demolish anyone's house unless there are extreme mitigating circumstances.

If they accept liability, they owe him the value of what was there plus something for inconvenience. Which is very little.
