One of my favorite songs she does. I really love her version of the Laura Nyro song Stoney End. Laura was one of the great singer songwriters of the 60s & 70s.
If you haven't see Barbra sing this at the end of "Funny Girl" you'll want to check it out, as well as every other moment Babs is on screen in her signature role.
Funny Girl plus Hello Dolly, both films are must, and her Central Park concert and One Voice concert. Having been a Barbra fan since her beginning, I can guarantee those will bring your official addiction to life
This song is actually from the 1920s and sung by Fanny Brice, and when Barbara did Funny Girl she sang it and it became part of her repertoire! She loved the older songs and sang many of them.
So, you're appreciation of great singers continues and it's not only Gabriel!! Barbra is a legend and deserves for this younger generation to know her. She did some wonderful duets as well with The BeeGees, Neil Diamond, Celine and many others. Thanks for the wonderful moment with Barbra!!
You need to react to Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland singing together on Judy’s show! I just watched an interview with Barbra and Fran Drescher regarding her SAG nomination and her history in her movies. She has a great foundation that donates to wonderful causes. Thank you for your great reaction! ❤❤
I first met Barbrah in a theater in New York i was 14 and went to see The Way We Were i was soooo mezmerized by her i went back 7 times to see her. Today im 65 and she still shocks me she was the best female vocalist iv ever heard and still i believe she is
Thank you for this, Saeed! She has always been one of a kind with her powerful, wonderful voice. Great breath and vocal control....lovely tone and ability to reach the highs and lows. From what I remember, she was mostly self taught. That's amazing, if true.
Saeed, she’s is the best vocal singer of this generation! This is Talent! Funny Girl is my favorite movie from Ms. Streisand! You should watch Funny Girl
Barbra is a national treasure. There will never be another. I would recommend two of her songs, although they are are all masterpieces. The songs are Prisioner, Love Theme From "Eyes Of Laura Mars," ruclips.net/video/kgBAZRDiYfs/видео.htmlsi=_bRZ9A-_oMnsy1E_ and One Less Bell to Answer/A House is Not a Home ruclips.net/video/GufjKaAf1TI/видео.htmlsi=4QeAap26y4dMHaOr
Barbra is my favorite! ❤❤❤❤ Barbra has more talent than the next best 20 singers. She also did brilliant comedic work in movie sand even created , directed and starred in her own movie!
My brother’s girlfriend got me my very first Barbra album on my 16th birthday. It was the Barbra Joan Streisand album. I wore that thing out as fell more and more in love with Barbra’s voice and talent. I made it my mission to collect all of the albums that I had missed out on previously and then get every single one released from that point on. I saw all of her movies and lost count of how many times I saw Funny Girl. I never thought it would ever be possible to see her live in my lifetime, but that dream came true in 2006. I got to see her when she came to Boston. I paid a lot for the tickets, which was actually pretty reasonable by today’s standards, but it was the best money I ever spent on entertainment. I got to share that night with my daughter who grew up listening to Barbra along with me. (She had no choice 😊) What a special night that was and I will always remember the feeling of joy and excitement when she rose up from under the stage singing. We looked at each other and gripped hands with the biggest smiles on our faces. It was magical. ❤😊 Thanks for reacting to Barbra. You’ll never run out of material.
I understand. I went through that too where I got "reintroduced to her" in the 70's and then had to go back and listen to every album and get all her singles (through a newspaper called "Goldmine" where you could buy the singles, albums and other rare stuff). and yes, I saw her in Boston in 2006 too. Glad you got to share it with your daughter. So sweet!
Great comments!! This was the moment she became a superstar! It’s one of the most extraordinary performances ever captured!! Good job friend! Your response is so generous and correct!!
Most shocking part of this video was when a dude with gray in his beard shares his mother is 3 years younger than I am...I am shook-ed and feel ancient🤣 Aside from that..awesome performance from one of the truly greats..from before the age of pitchcorrection etc etc
Barbra described this song as victim song much later in her career (80s/90s). This are the most troublesome lyrics (When I know I'll come back on my knees some day? For what ever my man is I am his forever more). This type of song was popular in 20s/40s). She still sing it but mentions victims issue and sings it to honor Fanny Brice who popularized it and was was the focus of the movies Funny Girl and Funny Lady.
I love the year your mother was born. We have something in common. She raised a great son. I also love Barbra ❤️. It was impossible to get tickets to see her in person they were gone in less than 2 days
“ Funny Girl” at the end of the movie sings this one. Barbra was 18 years in this movie. A wonderful movie about Fannie Brice and a gambler. So many good songs in this movie 🍿 Academy Award winning in every way!
I loved your reaction! I remember watching this on TV. I had all of Barbra’s albums and was thrilled to see her special. She was different from everybody else at the time. She truly is a legend. I would like to have you see another legend, singing the most played song of the 20th century, according to BMI. The song , from 1964, is You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, sung by the Righteous Brothers. The baritone, Bill Medley, is still singing today, and I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert three months ago. I also got to speak to him, a very kind and genuine man. He is another great singer who has been performing for over 60 years! His original partner, Bobby Hatfield, who sang the incredible Unchained Melody, passed away in 2003. I think you’ll enjoy the song. Here’s a link - ruclips.net/video/uOnYY9Mw2Fg/видео.htmlsi=PYjNeddNtzPW50_g
This is from Funny Girl I believe, which is the movie before Funny Lady. If Omar Sharif was my man, I might put up with a bit of nonsense from him here and there, lol. I haven’t seen the second movie though. Another song that has a similar theme is As Long as He Needs Me & is from the movie musical “Oliver!”. It’s a Stand By Your Man kind of song. Might want to check it out someday.😊
Love Barbra, saw her live I think in 2000. Being Australian we tend to sound out an S like a Z in some cases. For example we would pronounce Lesley as Lezley. The same with the word Streisand. Most of us say it as Streizand even though we know the correct pronunciation🫢

She is absolutely amazing. How about those politically incorrect lyrics, though, Saeed? “Two or three girls has he, that he likes as well as me, but I love him.” In fact the original lyrics, sung by Fanny Brice, included “He isn't good, he isn't true, He beats me too, What can I do?” I’m not kidding. This was a song from the 1920s. I’m not criticising you or your choice, Saeed, I promise, I love Streisand, but it is worth pointing out that sometimes the context of what is being sung is worth a mention. ❤
one of few that can make you cry just listening to her
Ok. Funny Girl.... This song is the culmination of that movie. Its required viewing. 🎉
I must watch it! Will see if i can find it.

@@SaeedReacts. It's one of the great film performances; when Barbra sings "I'm the Greatest Star," she leaves no doubt it's true.
When i saw her sing this at the end of the movie "Funny Girl" ... i was wrecked ... 💔
Funny Girl plus Hello Dolly, both films are must, and her Central Park concert and One Voice concert. Having been a Barbra fan since her beginning, I can guarantee those will bring your official addiction to life
I'm old enough to remember when this first aired on TV. Thank you for introducing her music to another generation.
What an incredible career!
@@EmmaYadkin me too. Saw it on our black and white TV.
I remember that night also!
Me too! She was on a bunch of variety TV shows, Merv, I think…she was a legend from day one.
Barbra…. the Best❤️
Have you reacted to her duet with Judy Garland when she was just 19? ? ? It really is spectacular!
Not yet! hope to get to that one eventually.
Barbara is a true legend. Glad to see someone reacting to her.
She really is. Definitely will explore more of her music.
She is the G.O.A.T.
Can you say "Judy Garland"?
I've been a fan of Streisand since I first discovered her at the age of 12 in 1973. Funny Girl was aired on TV. I watched it and I was blown away.
thanks, saeed, for paying appropriate tribute to barbra. please listen to more...
Incredible artist. Definitely want to check out more.
I grew up loving Barbra since the 'Funny Girl' days. Thanks for exposing her immense talent to a new generation. I appreciate your reactions.
Amazing artist. A true legend. Thanks for watching.
This song is actually from the 1920s and sung by Fanny Brice, and when Barbara did Funny Girl she sang it and it became part of her repertoire! She loved the older songs and sang many of them.
Style, class, pure raw talent. Her interpretation of the lyrics unsurpassed. Singers today just don't even come close
Barbra is simply magnificent!
💯
It is a true honor to love this stunning lady. There will never be another another Barbra Streisand 💕
100%
😍 perfect.. amazing
Her first hit, circa 1962, was "People" -- an astonishing purity of voice. And effortless.
1964

@@SaeedReacts. Look into Kenny Loggins and Linda Ronstadt. Kenny's "Sweet Reunion" is beautiful and Linda's version of "Oh, baby baby" is sweet!!
She is 1 of 14 Legend Grammy award winners. The live 1975 version is crazy!
She is the only one who can nail all the vocal dynamics AT a dynamic level. Insane vibrato and she never strains.

I saw Ms. Streisand on the big screen in Funny Girl (this song is from that film) when
I was 5 years old and I've loved and adored her ever since. 🥰🥰🥰
Yep, her rendition of "My Man" is a sensational ending to the movie.
Same here. 5 years old. Fell in love instantly.

No words.... Not only the vocal extension... But the emotions... She's absolutely The star
I was 20. She was MAGNETIC ! She was spellbinding. We have NEVER seen such talent ! It was inevitable that she would become an ICON.
Watch the duet of Barbra and Judy Garland on the Judy Garland show. It's glorious.
She is a Renaissance Woman.
a One of a kind Living Legend😘
Born in the 60s, and remember my parents playing her albums among some of the other brilliant artists that came out of that era.
So much great music in those times.
Thank you for this, Saeed! She has always been one of a kind with her powerful, wonderful voice. Great breath and vocal control....lovely tone and ability to reach the highs and lows. From what I remember, she was mostly self taught. That's amazing, if true.
She never had a vocal lesson. It is just a gift of enormous size that she learned very early on how to make the most of. And we are all grateful.
Amazing artist. She talked about that in her book. What a legend!
Check out the duet with Celine! Celine said her mother was her personal idol, but Barbra was her professional idol
She is the best vocalist male or female. My favorite song is People. Thank you for appreciating A true goat.
Will add that song to my list. Looking forward to more of her music.
Love Barbra. Saw her first Ed Sullivan Show when she was 15 yo
Thx for this song. One of my favorites
Incomparable talent and singing you have to see her performance from the finale of Funny Girl. She has won more awards than anyone.
There's only one Barbra. A talent of a lifetime. But can we talk about how handsome you are?
