Rooting for this game - there's lots to like about it, and each individual character is really cool, both in terms of mechanical gameplay and faithful representations of their DFO counterparts.
About time they add her. I was surprised they didn't make her a launch character lol. Imagine Enchantress being in a fighting game before *Battle Mage*.
I'm super excited to try BM, but Enchantress is a Puppeteer, and they've become a staple. In fighters, it's important to round out the base roster as much as possible, with a variety of archetypes that cater to different players, even if ones like Grapplers have grown but are niche, and in this case, I'd prefer the base not lacking a puppet character. Even Granblue is adding Nier this month which is rad. Even if they hadn't added a puppet, it should be the expectation, especially for an anime fighter: Melty Blood (Mario), Blazblue (Carl/Relius), GGST (Zato-1), Under Night (Chaos), Arcana hearts, you name it. There's a few here and there that don't, like Skullgirls which was made before the archetype grew, but that game is based around horrror duos like Nier or Enchantress so I love it regardless.

GG actually supports the idea behind Enchantress' base entry, as the series always bases Zato-1. Grew up playing that guy and I love horror duos because of him, which is why I play Bedman? now! These characters are usually Puppeteers instead tho, and that's made me appreciate ones like Enchantress, and Nier who Granblue is receiving this month! Even if I were to prefer BM over Enchantress, I completely understand the logic of the order.

They just need to fix some mechanics and actually shorten certain characters combos. It's almost impossible to get a new player into the game when they are getting Bashed by a Berserker, Striker, or Grappler for over nearly minute long combos that don't seem to end.

As much as I like this character, for a "main" trailer they could have at least shown her using chasers which is literally her whole gimmick. Omitting it completely in a debut trailer is a huge miss for presentation.
I don't know what you're referring to (Never played her in DFO) but I do agree that so little was actually given by this trailer. Like even compared to some of the other DLC character trailers it feels like so little is given.

This allows her to synchopate her attacks to do combos that aren't possible otherwise. Each of the different types of chaser also have different properties as well, and they each are generated in specific ways, which changes your playstyle drastically.
@@Yamikitsune Yeah, Battle mage actually has a lot of moves on display. Besides controlling the orbs, she is supposed to have a dash move, similar to the grappler. But its supposed to be a lot faster and she automatically retracts back to her original spot, regardless if she hits or misses and its a super armor move. She can also combo off of the dash move after it hits, even if she is far away, and that's due to the orbs / chasers.
She looks sick, but man. It still pains me that DNF Duel could have been so much better if they released the dlc during its first year. Glad to see the devs haven't given up yet. I hope this game gets a GBVSR type of comeback
Aww...was hoping for a Teana transformation D:.. Battle Mage is one of my top chars in my lineup and i love the Teana design...woulda been cool to see it here. Maybe someday...or if you guys are gonna add Neo Awakening characters, seeing Battlemages Neo in this would be ridiculous
it wont but this is nice to see the crazy thing is that they had had everyone by the balls but they didnt have a roadmap so people fell off its only now they are clearly laying out everything on the table but its too late people have moved onto other fighting games and since its an anime game it doesnt have the same pull like other games such as street fighter, tekken, and mortal combat
Enjoy the game for what it is. There are people who love kicking this game when it’s down. It’s the popular meta thing to do. One thing that will definitely help the game is crossplay. That and a team battle mode. My wish addition would be a team assists/tag team feature. That could make it popular.
They dropped the ball with this game for refusing to show overtly any support for it (that was in the works) down the road. Seriously no communication on updates for far too long and balance patches breaking infinites took forever to show up. Killed the game quite fast.

Battle Mage focuses heavily on physical combat with her staff with her magic being used to enhance her attacks and extend combos via the Chaser orbs you see being generated behind her.
Enchantress is a Puppet character an Battle mage seems like a rush down character with Mid screen potential. First of all her combos are most likely gonna be easier since You don't have to juggle 2 different sets of special moves depending on if your controlling the bear or not. Enchantress an Launcher were my first picks an I have to set Enchantress is one of the hardest characters I've played in any fighting game. An I've played Iron fist for a bit when I was ignorant to MVC3 tier lists an why tiers actually matter besides Bias.

She's a lot more in your face, close ranged, and has faster attacks than enchantress in the MMO, so they'll probably translate some of that to duel
