I've seen Taurey at the House of Jazz a few times - a worthy successor to the legendary Oscar Peterson. Phenomenally talented and entertaining. He provides superb support to the bass & drums when they're soloing. Fabulous technical ability, but it's always at the service of the music - he's not playing to show off.
I saw him for the 1st time, last night at Diese Onze, all I could say was wow ! Especially his version of “Wonderful World”- he had Ramsay Lewis, Art Tatum & Oscar Peterson all rolled in one ! Such a nice humble guy as well.
Wow, a blast from the past... Can you believe, after 40 some years, House of Jazz (Formerly Biddle's) shut down? Great memories with my friends Wali & Taurey.
@@terrycompton3100 I doubt very much it reopens. Wait and see, but I don't count on it. Could be related to Gilles, but not that I know of. My grandfather from St-Hyacinte.

Is there any hope it will reopen once COVID has passed? PS are you related to Gilles Lagace in Kamouraska?
