      They really are the best couple that successfully got their happy ending, married with better fulfilling jobs and with a child. I honestly don't think any of the other couples would have survived Josh and Donna would have eventually broken up because Josh is too self absorbed, Charlie would have moved on from Zoe I have a feeling his need to please the president would have gotten in the way, Will and Toby too tied to their work and cynical to find love, Kate was multiple divorced she was never going make it, Sam came back to work in the WH which would have ended his engagement. I am so happy CJ and Danny survived theirs was a genuine love and a relationship of equals with lots of humour and sweet friendship that lasted the test of time.

    Such good writing in this scene. Acting, too, yeah, but it's the writing that's noteworthy. Season 7 was not the greatest, but this scene stood out.

      Or when Anna Scott was standing was standing in front of William Thacker in the "book shop" near the end of the movie Notting Hill, or when Juliet found the videotape that Marc was editing in the movie Love Actually, or when Mary and the 3 guys were listening to the phone messages in the movie "He's Just Not That Into You", or when Julianne Potter asks Michael O'Neal to "choose me, Marry me" in the saddest scene from the movie "My Best Friend's Wedding", or when...............

    I absolutely love everything about this scene except for the rude waitress and the fact that Danny spills his heart out to her and she flies out the door. No goodbye or kiss. I think they could have at least added something in there for him. Other than that Bradley Whitford wrote a hell of an episode. 💕

    • @partyguy101ify

      I wouldn't say she was rude. The bit C.J. was doing is in bad taste in some settings. A five-star restaurant while sipping spring water is probably high on the list. Plus, C.J. previously dismissed the server in a rude manner, so this was payback.

      Well, duh, they wanted to lay the groundwork for getting them together ready to get them together right that very second. It's perfect exactly the way it ends ... because it doesn't end there. It ends in "Institutional Memory" and the gorgeousness that is the final scene, built on the scenes in between where they are starting tentative steps toward a relationship. This scene is essentially a proposal that got interrupted by a nuclear disaster.

    Why does the waitress hate CJ?

    • @tejaswoman
      @tejaswoman Год назад +2

      It's a continuation from an earlier scene a few nights before when they had met for dinner but CJ had cut off the waitress in the middle of telling them the specials because CJ wanted them to be able to just sit and talk without having to wait to hear all that. The waitress took it personally for some strange reason.

      This was the episode with the nuclear accident in California. I guess a simple “you’ll understand in a couple of hours” on the way out wouldn’t have hurt but as Danny notes, CJ has no human skills left after working in the White House for 8 years
