What I love about Nemophila is that they play anything they want and change their appearance from time to time. A "chameleon band" is another word for it. They change their hair styles, hair color, clothing, and makeup. But they are still Nemophila. They have other great songs like Monsters, Rise, G.O.D., Dissension, AMA-TE-RAS, and many others. I really recommend AMA-TE-RAS. Its my favorite song from them.
"Just" another super talented all female Japanese band. Love them. Saw them live twice in SoCal and they were awesome. Mayu's harsh vocals are incredible. They are really versatile from thrash, a little punk vibe here and there. hard rock, etc. Their catalog is filled with some bangers.
Saki, the guitarist in the skirt has moved on. When my mother passed, i put their song " Life " on a loop before it was even translated. Saw them in Dallas with Saki still in the band. They really perform varying styles for original and cover songs. " Life " is just beautiful
Tamu is one of the most versatile drummers in the Japanese music scene. Before joining Nemophila, she was a sought-after session musician. I don't think there's any genre she can't do. Including drumming from sheet music. She can also play the piano, xylophone, guitar, bass and sing. She also looks after her 2 children and builds gingerbread houses (OK, the children ate the walls while building them). Mayu is also the mother of a son.
Love Nemophila. They have three albums with Saki (guitarist - right screen), who sadly left about 10 months ago. However, they are continuing as a four piece formation and IMO haven’t lost a step. They have reworked a number of older songs for the new formation. Their fourth album and first as a four piece will be officially released on 22 Jan 2025. A few of the songs are already out as official videos to promote the album. ❤️🌸
They definitely will not be replacing Saki. They have put a ton of work into the new formation to include their fourth album. They have moved on from heavy guitar duels to more prominent bass riffs and occasional bass versus guitar duels. Hazuki, (current guitarist screen left), is more than capable of holding the solos on her own. Side note: you might want to check out Hazuki’s other band Koiai with their song A New Picture for a taste of her capability. It is unfortunate that Saki left, but she is doing well on her project. Nemophila is also just fine with four members.
@@Abigirl_Reacts They should try, but Saki was pretty much irreplaceable and the band is less without her. Hazuki is very good, but no matter what, the double leads are gone and her charisma is only a fraction of Saki's. I still like them, but admit to not actively following them anymore. It isn't the same band.
Disagree. I've seen them live with and without SAKI. They are less constrained, having more fun, and go way harder. Their recent shows are much more wild.

Great songs that show the softer side of Nemophila. 'Ama-Te-Ras' is a quite unique 'groovy metal' song and one of their best as well. ‘G.O.D.’ is one of their newest song and 1st song as a 4-piece band And don't miss their many covers...they are all great as well!
I saw them perform this early in their set at Budokan, the most prestigious venue in Japan. The outro was _brutal_ and the kick drums were so intense. Great band, though a month or two after that show, my beloved Saki (the one with the skirt with the front slit in this video) left the band. I want her to be happy and all, but I hated to see her go. I have her signature guitar, a Fascinator made by Killer Guitars named "Seven the Empress" because it's a seven-string guitar. It's the only seven-string I've owned, but it's the guitar I play the most these days.
Enjoyed the reaction. Still the same line up for the most part except one of the guitarists, Saki, left the band to embark on a solo career. They're still active, but now as a four piece, with the remaining guitarist handling lead guitar. Vocalist, Mayu, has taken rhythm guitar duty in some of their more recent releases.
Their original songs are definitely the best for truly getting a feel of Mayu's voice. She very quickly jumped up my list of favorite vocalists thanks to her mix of clean melodic singing, her banshee screams, the rasp she will put into her voice, etc. Top 3 for me are: Ama-te-ras, Adabana, and Rise. That said, their covers are still a good listen and you get to see them just having fun. Covers for others you have reacted to, Nemophila has done a Hanabie cover as well as an Ado cover.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Ussewa if I'm not mistaken. Fun little video with it of Mayu and Tamu (the drummer) just having fun in a park. Hanabie has also done an Ado cover (of Odo).
Very nice reaction. Like Lovebites, Nemophila was a 5-piece Band with dueling guitars and especially live they are heavy as hell. Sadly Saki left the band a short time ago. They stay with the 4 members Mayu (Vocals), Hazuki (Lead Guitar), Haraguchi-san (Bass) and Tamu (Drums). In the first songs as a foursome you can clearly hear that they will continue to play their hard style. Their new album will be released on January 22nd and the first song Brainwash shows that they will continue to play very hard. In general, their songs are very mixed in style and all played very cleverly. I love their music and I am already curious about the new album Apple of my eye. Next I would recommend Hypnosis for their very interesting different styles and Oiran for their typical heavyness. And Tamu is a damned heavy drummer. Top Band. Best greetings from Vienna.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Saki has two pretty good solo songs, Germinans and The Empress. She did since her splitting from Nemophila lots of single projects with other musicians, but sometimes underwhelmed for her great talents. She is a big shredding queen on guitar. But her world was Nemophila with the changings solos between her and Hazuki and than the finishing in perfect syncronisation. Hopefully she find´s another band, where she can go on as a shredding monster, or she goes her single way with more songs like her both former ones. She ist hugely talented. Only a couple of these projects with other musicians inbetween don´t show her abilities on the guitar. I compare her and Hazuki with the M+M´s from Lovebites. She was the Shredder like Midori and Hazuki is the technician and cool playing type like Miyako. Listen to more of Nemophila´s live songs. Lastly I´m thankful, that you do such a good job, bringing the asian musicians more in front, where they belong such a long time. I´m trying every day to bring their music to my metal friends, but it is a hard job. Thank you for taking your time to read and answer the suggestions, there are not many reactors like you. Please keep it up and have a good time with excellent music.
Wowsers! That’s the first time I’ve heard them, and I am very impressed! Their musicianship is outstanding, very good technicality, the singer is cute and a great singer and it was a great song. The structure of the guitar solos is very good and interesting, quite technical and sonically good. I was also missing the bassist in the mix, perhaps she could have been placed a bit higher and that would have been better? I must look at more of their music, I’m impressed!
@Abigirl_Reacts. I know the bass performance you want, but I can’t find the exact video I’m thinking of. I left a comment on another channel for 2 of the 6 really knowledgeable fans. If they have the answer I’ll reply again later. However, the song you want is Rollin Rollin, but the video may have come from a live instrument medley. Note: Mayu gave birth to her son just 4 months before their US tour, so they inserted a medley of their songs and covers into the concert to give her a break. There is a reasonable fan cam of a medley version if your search for Nemophila Instrument Medley + Zen @ Trees Dallas, but it is a fan cam and not the video I’m thinking of from Japan. It may have come from a convert Blu-Ray/DVD. Alternatively, you could just react to the Rollin Rollin video. While Haraguchi-San’s bass is the same as the medley, they are not stopping bringing her to front. You could also just react to Change The World, which is broken into parts for each musician to shine individually. Hopefully, I’ll be back, or someone can reply with the version of Rollin Rollin where Haraguchi kneels on two pillows placed on a front riser.
One thing I didn't mention in my comment over on Patreon is the bassist, Haraguchi's role in this song. Honestly she doesn't stand out much in this one visually aside from the group yells (she gives us some awesome bass playing though!), but she does shine a little more in other songs. For example, in the Megitsune cover, she gets to say the "nametara, ikanzeyo" line! If you do more Nemophila, the best way to appreciate her is to watch her face - she's always grinning or making faces of pure delight when Mayu screams. It'll make sense when you see it ;) Then again I also like Hettsu best from Hanabie and Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, so maybe I just appreciate cool bassists? 🤔
Try their new song Brainwash if you want to have your face melted off 😁🤘🔥 It just might have replaced Zen as my favorite "Nemophila in face melting mode" track. I wonder, does Tamu have a license for that machine gun? And if you thought you heard Mayu growl in Raitei, you ain't heard nothing yet 😂🤘🔥 Speaking of Nemophila covers, try Make You Happy, a total change of pace. They have many great songs, and are good live.
I noticed on your channel that you'd posted several videos about Silent Hill. Fun fact is that the drummer むらたたむ (Murata-tamu) is married to the Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, and when the band posted a cover for halloween this year she was dressed up as pyramid head.
2 favorite bands The Warning and Nemophila. I know you have done The Warning. So let’s do more of Nemophila. One guitarist left they are a great four member band now. Try the song Style their latest version in the studio. Or if you want to hear the singer go all out try Zen live. Great reaction.
MEGITSUNE was the wrong choice for your introduction to NEMOPHILA. RAITEI was just their second OMV. Other extremely heavy songs include RISE, REVIVE, ZEN, and of course DISSENTION. Magic happens when HAZUKI and SAKI play melodic leads together, a la MONSTERS, LIFE, ADABANA, and NOW I HEAR.
Great reaction thank you for giving them another listen next try a song where you can hear her screams like Zen live or God you will be blown away the one guitarist with the long skirt Saki left the band last april they are now only a four piece but even better and harder Hazuki is the queen of the seven string guitars
the blue color of them represent the band because nemophila is a flower and it called baby blue eyes have 5 petals just lyk the group next if you like the soft side of them try the song life
My favorite band in a crowded field. Lots of great songs. If you love dueling and harmonizing guitars try Now I Here. ruclips.net/video/vmbE1gikVtQ/видео.htmlsi=vkdwXJnygPLDSKQe
@Abigirl_Reacts I don't want to flood you with stuff, but 😂... I don't think you have reacted to Unleash the Archers yet. Canadian power metal with stunning (clean) vocals and tight dual guitars. Showcased nicely in their most recent Seeking Vengeance. ruclips.net/video/73UDuifWPvg/видео.htmlsi=olR87TbXWNETYpHX I discovered them about the same time I discovered Jinjer. It's the only seven-string I've owned, but it's the guitar I play the most these days.
I'm so happy you got to see them live! ^_^
Thanks for the info!
Awesome! Happen to remember which Ado song it was?
How is Saki doing today?
Gracias por reaccionar a Nemophila! Mi favorita de Japón 🤘😎
You're welcome, it was fun!
Next song: RISE or HYPNOSIS
Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^
Welcome to Nemophila my friend. An extremely versatile band.
They are soooo good. Never disappoint
Maybe we need a nemophila song where the bass really shines next!
@ I’ll have a look 👀
It'll make sense when you see it ;)
Then again I also like Hettsu best from Hanabie and Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, so maybe I just appreciate cool bassists? 🤔
That's very possible Chrono ^_^ I'm not sure who my favorite bassist is... I'll think about it
Welcome to NEMOPHILA, J-RockMetal world 🤘🏼😎
RAITEI is THUNDER⚡ in JAPANESE
I didn't know that, thank you!
@Abigirl_Reacts welcome!✌🏼☺️ #japanrock
Try their new song Brainwash if you want to have your face melted off 😁🤘🔥 It just might have replaced Zen as my favorite "Nemophila in face melting mode" track. I wonder, does Tamu have a license for that machine gun? And if you thought you heard Mayu growl in Raitei, you ain't heard nothing yet 😂🤘🔥
Speaking of Nemophila covers, try Make You Happy, a total change of pace.
They have many great songs, and are good live.
Awesome, tysm for the info! Added ^_^
@Abigirl_Reacts You're welcome 😁 They have softer songs too, like Odyssey, Life, and Beautiful Days.
Thank U abi for another amazing reaction always a pleasure watching Ur reaction thank U again looking forward to Ur next upload
Thanks
@Abigirl_Reacts Ur most welcome anytime ABI hope you had a great Friday and have an awesome weekend
That is freaking amazing. I love silent hill so much!
2 favorite bands The Warning and Nemophila. I know you have done The Warning. So let’s do more of Nemophila. One guitarist left they are a great four member band now. Try the song Style their latest version in the studio. Or if you want to hear the singer go all out try Zen live. Great reaction.
Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^
@ I also have a slower song they do ruclips.net/video/Lo0T4DHquQs/видео.htmlsi=P-YZU1LPSXIAIsw4
Thank you for the feedback! ^_^
Great reaction thank you for giving them another listen next try a song where you can hear her screams like Zen live or God you will be blown away the one guitarist with the long skirt Saki left the band last april they are now only a four piece but even better and harder Hazuki is the queen of the seven string guitars
Wait Saki is no longer a part of the band as of today?
Yes but Hazuki has been unleashed she is no longer under Saki,s shadow the band is progressing they are releasing a new album the end of the month
but last ten months ago saki the other guitarist left the band but they continue as 4 member group and they still going with the new music
Got it, thank you!
If you love harmonizing guitars please give and try to Now I Here, Life and Monsters
Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^
Awesome reaction!! Please react to more Nemophila, Revive, Oiran , Monster , God
Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^
@Abigirl_Reacts your welcome an thank you for the reaction !! Have a wonderful day
Saki is considered among the best female shredders in Japan, so I guess there's a reason why they haven't searched for a new guitarist.
Makes sense
the blue color of them represent the band because nemophila is a flower and it called baby blue eyes have 5 petals just lyk the group next if you like the soft side of them try the song life
Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^
@Abigirl_Reacts welcome abi girl 😍
Monsters and Sorai live.... Next songs..
Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^
This song was also feature in a short Anime that was made for Acura.
You said you like dual guitar solo have you seen Babymetal- Akatsuki
No but thank you so much for this, I'll add it!
@@Abigirl_Reacts there's also a unfinish version of Akatsuki that it's worth watching as well same song but very different delivery
💠🤘
🤘😊🤘
Sadly, now there's only one guitarist. It's a completely different level of sound (not in a good way, either).
Gotcha!
I liked them more with Saiki there.
I bet, I heard she's quite talented!
My favorite band in a crowded field. Lots of great songs. If you love dueling and harmonizing guitars try Now I Here. ruclips.net/video/vmbE1gikVtQ/видео.htmlsi=vkdwXJnygPLDSKQe
Thanks for the link!
Different, but equally satsfying.
