I went and it wasn't scary. And I'm a super jumpy person. Other people jumping scared m more than what was actually happening. It's because you're on edge the whole time. I actually called it Startlehouse instead of Scarehouse that year.
Armchair trolls take note: A video with a spot greatly diminishes all creepy factors in a haunt and reduces the scare factor immensely, while you watch it unfold on a computer screen. Secondly, there is a theme here that capitalizes on the fact that the building used to be an Elks lodge back in the early 1900's, indulging into the concept of what sort of secret rituals 'may have' taken place. Having been through this haunt, I can confidently say that it more than delivers in mood, detail, and immersion into the theme. They don't require someone yelling in your face every five feet, and rely more on the fear of walking down a curtained hallway and not knowing what will happen. It isn't filled with teenagers screaming themselves hoarse, chainsaws, and it doesn't beat you over the head with overuse of cheap gore and severed heads; it requires you to immerse yourself into the theme and vibe. A big leap of faith for many, I'm sure. And the person who commented that 100 Acre is better...really?? They're stuck in the outdated and predictable low budget fireman's benefit idea of more gore = more scare and have been for years.
+Dan Frank I completely agree with you on this. It is virtually impossible to get the same affect on camera (especially with a light) that it has in person. Many haunts have tried. Its either too bright with the light, too dark without, and night vision cameras lose all color and details. The amount of detail in this haunt is amazing, and of course would be 1000% more effective in person. For those bashing the actors, even they will sometimes act slightly different when they know they are on camera compared to just being with patrons. I run a small home haunt and am also a film maker. So I know how much lighting plays a part in dark scenes. The people that are trolling don't understand this or the fact that as you said, this haunt has a very distinct and unique theme. Great job here and happy haunting!
Peter Benedetto It's an independent haunted house that has some elements of Trick r Treat blended into it as a bonus. It's not a Trick r Treat-themed haunted house.
Peter, It's not designed or positioned as a complete Trick R Treat themed haunt, but a companion attraction filled with references and connections to the world - SAM, Werewolf women in the brothel, Jack O Lanterns, candy wrappers, music, and other elements -- all of which was provided to us directly from writer/director Michael Dougherty and the team from Legendary. Thanks!
8:45-8:49 Sam appears. Sam is just so cute and adorable. This is a very cool haunted house. I think Sam is just adorable. Oh my ghostbusters, this haunted house is very cool. Sam is just so cute.
I keep hearing 'Great One'....Then I think: 'Who, the Great Pumpkin?' XP I dunno, that was alot of buildup for the animatronic demon, which was neat. But eh.
I've been within walking distance of The ScareHouse for the past 2 years and still haven't gone. I should probably check it out. Haunted Houses aren't my favorite things to do but it seems like it would be worth the try.
This looks really cool! It was funny to see that a lot of their props, including the "great one" can be found at a local theme park's haunt around me. (Dorney park if anyone was wondering). Maybe it's because I'm in PA also. Or maybe the "great one" was on sale somewhere. Haha. Either way, this looked like a lot of fun!
It's created by Gore Galore. They make some amazing stuff and even better this is actually a giant puppet! There is actually a person contorting the movement and lighting but they are very well hidden. Got to see this and their newest ones for 2015 in person.
I really want these guys or theme park review to come to haunted hillside. Outdoor haunt, super scary a lot of people say we're better than hundred acre manor and I just think we need a little recognition!
1:57 hey dude Skyrim is twenty worlds from here did you make a wrong turn you better get back beofore some one notices your not in the game Wait wrong npc sorry. Lol Yeah I attempted a Skyrim joke don’t flame war me into oblivion. Plz Edit: also if I was there I would bring my master sword replica and use it to intimidate the “great one” and trust me Gannon was scarier than that thing!
I don't see how this is a Trick 'R Treat maze. Throwing in one Sam does not a maze make. Halloween Horror Nights one ups this all day every day no problem.
The sets look amazing, also the beast at the end and the voices in the red curtains were very well done. Many of the other characters not scary at all - lots of missed opportunities for jump scares especially with so many doing creepy character talk. Quite a few areas begging for additions - all those pictures but no drop panels near beginning, pallet walkways in dark and fog with no one jumping our or putting arms through, and many of the "member only" area actors seem pointless.
I went to scarehouse two years ago. When we got to the butchers room, the actor tried to put the flesh mask up to this really big man's face. The guy lost his shit, left his girlfriend and friends, and went screaming down the hallway with the actor chasing him. It was hilarious.
+KenzyKinz its probably someone that works there, and knows what going to happen and when, or it could be the guy/girl that owns the haunt, but who ever it is, its definatly that is experienced with that haunt
I'm sorry...I know all involved here worked hard and did their best, but this is just a mess of a house! Having been in the industry over 20 years there is absolutely nothing here that is scary...sometimes haunt actors are given too much latitude, and this is the case with this haunt. There is no continuity from scene to scene and a lot of lines like "Welcome, come on in," and "He is waiting for you." All building up to an anti-climactic animatronic. And what was with that out-of place poker room? Just seems so random. "slime of my morning dew" followed by howling? uhhhhh
mtmagpie 1900 agreed. This is the worst haunted house that I have ever seen and the actors are horrible. I don't understand anyone who says great haunted or good job.
thid the little kid that kindof that wearing a scarecrow coustum did the kid get haunted beacause i saw the movie that he murders people with his lolypop
i liked seeing little Sam from Trick or treat but the rest urgh i have seen better Trick or treaters at my door and the guy all painted up white near the end looked if he belonged in Mad Ma Fury Road he reminded me f a War Boy
I'm siting here like, "This isn't so scary." But in reality I'd take one step inside and piss myself.
Mary Schreiber if you find this scary you should try hhn at universal lol
I went and it wasn't scary. And I'm a super jumpy person. Other people jumping scared m more than what was actually happening. It's because you're on edge the whole time. I actually called it Startlehouse instead of Scarehouse that year.
Same here. I think it's the sound that does it.
same 😂
That's really cool Scarehouse let you do a walkthru!

This had like nothing to do with the movie at all...

wasnt it great how the actors stayed on script tho
***** i believe they're talking about the man ''downstairs''
I can't wait to see this Saturday! This will be so fun for my first haunted house ever! You all did an amazing Job!
They kept on saying the "great one is expecting you." I thought Wayne Gretzky was at the end.
wow. great actors, storylines and detail to the rooms! Looks like a great haunted house!
i love this... this is a really good one
i love the theme of this haunt! the 20's vibe it has is cool!
I've been within walking distance of The ScareHouse for the past 2 years and still haven't gone. I should probably check it out. Haunted Houses aren't my favorite things to do but it seems like it would be worth the try.

Where was the animatronic demon in Dorney Park? Was it in "Age of Darkness"?
It's created by Gore Galore. They make some amazing stuff and even better this is actually a giant puppet! There is actually a person contorting the movement and lighting but they are very well hidden. Got to see this and their newest ones for 2015 in person.
Mombie The Zombie Yeah, I'm familiar with Gore Galore. I just realized it was their puppet. Thanks.
I'm a huge fan of their work and I know the owner. :D
Mombie The Zombie That's cool. Tell them to make more normal sized animatronics! Lol.
I didn't get any of the trick r treat movie references and it seems awkward and thrown together
the great one....that was awesome....wow!
Thanks for coming out! You can see tons of other videos from our haunts on our RUclips page. Subscribe!
That's not the master that's just spider goat
The ScareHouse This was horrible
I really want these guys or theme park review to come to haunted hillside. Outdoor haunt, super scary a lot of people say we're better than hundred acre manor and I just think we need a little recognition!
1:57 hey dude Skyrim is twenty worlds from here did you make a wrong turn you better get back beofore some one notices your not in the game

Lol
Yeah I attempted a Skyrim joke don’t flame war me into oblivion. Plz
Edit: also if I was there I would bring my master sword replica and use it to intimidate the “great one” and trust me Gannon was scarier than that thing!
if i go into any haunted house like that, one of my multiple personalities will come out and start having a full conversation with one of the actors
+Kyle Rogers hahaha
Ashu .. its happened before
Haha, That would be so funny, how was the actor's reaction?
Ashu .. confused but went along with it
***** last time i checked you didnt have papers of my mental history. id keep your mouth shut if i were you. you dont know me
You going to be showing of the christmas and zombie themed ones as well?

Any chance you'll do scarehouse again this year?
Did anyone else see the collosol Titan?
NEAT FACTS
Whereabouts on the video?
NEAT FACTS you sure? The colossal Titan doesn't have hair lol you're thinking of Eren
SupahSmashBrotha96
Are you filming this year's Trick R' Treat and Krampus maze?
I don't see how this is a Trick 'R Treat maze. Throwing in one Sam does not a maze make. Halloween Horror Nights one ups this all day every day no problem.
They were so calm about it like oh that’s nice
seems like id just mess with the characters and see if they stay in character
Same here!!!
great decoration

Is the great one is the rock?
Why was there the random bar scene with the two dudes playing cards? That's something you see everyday!
XD
That looks awesome
If I was at the end, I would've said, "You're laughing, this mechanical dog is dancing, And apparently you are eating my soul?"
Outrageous and scary cool !!!☻💀🖤🕸🕷
Have You went to The Darkness House or Mckayme Manor?
Looks better then the one in cedar point. The only scare tactic was jump scares.
This doesn't look so scary. But I always take a Xanax before going through a haunted hause. Makes me mellow as shit lol.
I went to scarehouse two years ago. When we got to the butchers room, the actor tried to put the flesh mask up to this really big man's face. The guy lost his shit, left his girlfriend and friends, and went screaming down the hallway with the actor chasing him. It was hilarious.
at 6:18 I love his eyes
Fun looking house.
Anybody can tell me the title of the song (Boogeyman lyrics) in the first few rooms?
The beast at the end looked actually really cool and more like a undertale character
Well it more looks like a terror dog. Oh my ghostbusters this is a very cool haunted house.
the kid in the scarecrow costume is me is from trik r treat
I used to watch this movie as a child and I cried when I saw it lol😂😂😂

I watched this with my 7 year brother and he didn't even flinch
I was just thinking the whole time i should make chocolate strawberry's and give every person one with a hug ._.
how do you know which door to open?
How does the camera guy not even act scared!
+KenzyKinz its probably someone that works there, and knows what going to happen and when, or it could be the guy/girl that owns the haunt, but who ever it is, its definatly that is experienced with that haunt
Rich Davidson that a good point but I don't think that the case because he uploaded many more haunted house videos were he wasn't scared
lol this was amusing.
the actors did a good job towards the end of next video
Dude laughing:AHAHAH!!

I'm sorry...I know all involved here worked hard and did their best, but this is just a mess of a house! They are taking a different approach to a haunt. They're idea is to entertain.
what music is that?
Good haunt but need more stuff popping out at you but very good
Come on Pittsburg you can do better than that!
Ikr

+Frozen Ice Queen Elsa OOH WHAT A LOVELY GLAZE
5:54-5:55 HauntedProps.com advertises those
You can't call it a Trick 'r Treat house when all you have is a pumpkin and one Sam scare actor that does nothing but lamely waves.
are they fake or people
Where's Sam? Never mind I see him. Just wish it wasn't at the end of the tour.
8:45-8:49 Sam appears.

This is quite possible the worst haunted house that I have ever seen and those actors...fired! lol 5:23 man or woman???
Well done haunt but this pretty much has nothing to do with Trick R Treat. They should've just gave it its own original name.
at 10:00 he said he can taste your ****
That black guy was in white face...
