Good find, I've been digging into hours upon hours of information since I haven't played since before Season 1 and no one has mentioned this. Subbed, keep that information flowing!
That is good to know being that I have been playing games since way back when and only play tanks in games. Love me some tanky tanky tanky in game. Thanks for the info bud!
No it is not true, you can also do the new raid (pve) to get 725 GS And even in the PvP FFA area, you can get your way to 725 items without doing PvP, it will just take longer (but your PvP will be on so care)
Love this, thank you! I have been dabbling in tanking and its a daunting task in higher level mutations especially with people running low con builds etc so I welcome this change for sure!
@@dan_mccoy yup ! Even the blocking threat buff is good for more « passive » tanks, but also if you keep damaging, there you should keep it more easily!
Thanks for the video, very nice information and liked your editing and use of animations. Regarding the changes themselves, I will have to try them out to find out if aggro has become totally trivial for higher level PvE now, can't really say I felt problems in live version. But might be different for new people and more casual players of course. I really don't understand why they have done so much changes to s&s light and heavies tho. S&S was already a very dominating tanking weapon, now even more so, and it risks making the weapon unusable as a DPS alternative because of the aggro it creates. And why not doing the same for flail, a weapon already struggling more with aggro than s&s? Either way, will be interesting to test all of these things.
@@dellarosa1279 thank you !! I guess buffing SnS is good as we lose the 300con grit on LA, although that’s for 300con players. I agree that SnS DPS is gonna get hard, didn’t think about that, they probably should stop doing heavy for empower if it struggles too much, at least whirling blade is untouched
Well aggro were already easy to hold, so I don't understand these changes and I was playing tank from begging, and I was first tank to use GS/WH in brimsone. But all this doesn't matter when Devs try kill the game and steal money from console players. Pc wait 8 months to just get no content, for crafting to be dead alongside of useless M3 dungs. 10 men raid without meaningful rewards and PvP zone which will be abused by groups is not a content
A lot of pick-up groups were struggling with aggro because of poor build or poor knowledge, this makes it less frustrating for them while not changing much for you (you'll definitely never lose aggro now, or can then get aggro back with a HA) I understand the frustration with no content, that's why I took a break from the game too. I gotta strongly disagree with the "no meaningful reward" on the 10 men raid though, especially if you do PvE.
@@MrMojitoTV First time i heard someone struggle with keeping aggro its so easy. Pro tip tank need have Level 5 Carnelian gem in weapons, i think thats was the issue. What is the reward then from 10 Men raid? what is the meaningful reward? No BiS gear with few Gearscore more hell no thats not an meaningful reward.
Hi! wanted to clarify this (im dyslexic) You mentioned that heavy attacks will generate taunt @8:13 Is this only if you have the gem? Or will all melee HA generate taunt with/without gems or even with other gems attached. Thanks!!
Hi! Yes, maybe it wasn't clear but of course you can't taunt without a gem, so you do need the taunt gem to generate taunt with melee HA Also I didn't test it but I guess the Lost Stopwatch lets you taunt on HA without the gem
hmm, not sure what i should think about this. for casuals i guess its good, but for quite a lot of players this is making the game to easy. Tanks had to manage their cds and do some attack in between to hold aggro, healers had to either be helped by dds or manage healing while having a mob or two aggro. This sounds like all that is not needed at all and tanks will just be able to stand there and hold block till the mobs are down.(a little overdramatic but i think you get the point)
@@Altarknight Hey ! Thanks ! I talked exhaustively about all the things that change with the update, so it’s not really an example when I talk about sword. The only changes to flail are that the arcane dot does half the threat, and Heavy Attacks with carnelian will taunt for 0.5s like the other melee weapons, that’s all
Are taunts still delayed? I can remember when tank would lose aggro a taunt wouldn't work on the mobs until after some time. It's like the mobs had to finish whatever in progress action including attacking whoever stole aggro. I really didn't like it. I always expected taunts to be immediately effective.

It's an important change with the Con/Grit changes I think. I used to just spam light attacks to keep aggro with sword... that might not be possible now all the time.
@@SomeGuyFromUtah yeah, sword tanking will probably have to be more defensive withou the grit, or better at dodging, so buffing it’s threat is a good way to keep it viable
@@Hrodgir Man don’t ask me about it :(( Hard to tell for now, VG/LS tanking will be close to impossible yeah, I think flail paladin is fine, and HA taunt is very good for bosses where paladin was struggling to keep aggro because I couldn’t benefit from the reset of Bludgeon Overall should be still usable, was not playing 300con either
There is also to see if SnS DPS is gonna be tough, and stealing aggro too much, then this loses a bit the purpose of paladin to have extra dps There is also the buff to Leader of The Pack which is big to make Flail give 20% empower all the time

less aggro stealing by dps is better experience overall especailly when beloved is gone

Agree, this is a great change
Great video. I wonder if Flail and Shield could be a great alternative to S+S as a main tank weapons.
Flail definitely is a good tank weapon, the downside is the low damage you have
I think Greatsword will be the best and easiest option
