This guy was my friend in the 90’s.He worked at Bata (I think) on Kenyatta Ave.A VERY nice guy I remember.Always greeted and chatted with me whenever I passed by the shop.God bless him and grant him fulfillment for the rest of his days.Times were bad.I was a young refugee always trying to dodge cops in the streets of Nairobi. But this guy always treated me well and made me feel like I was not a 2nd class citizen.I will never forget him and hope I see him sometime soon God willing.
I hope with skepticism that the so called integrated Parliamentary leadersdership that President Uhurtu is taking pride of can translate this mixed party leadership in the Kenyan society at their various levels of business and political spectrum, thus sending to bed the political division that exists built on the tribal platform. What the president needs to work on is research on what it means to manage change at national level. It’s therefore an easy concept to sell but a very scaring one to make it work and I suspect the president is quite unsure how of the how to get such results, i.e. the how question is much harder to crack than that what question. The key asset in the is equation is the human capital and their talent but this is exactly the big problem the president has in his hands and the critical operational hard rock for him is that unlike employees he could hire and fire on purpose, his human capital in this case is composed of a bunch of political operatives who have been hired by the electorate for a specific duration of 5 years at a time we commonly call, parliamentary term. This points to the one most obvious risk the president is going to encounter that is exacerbated the fact that the duration is just over one and half years to the end of the current term term. However, the president is most probably banking on the plan that he is not retiring and exiting the scene in one and half years, suggesting that the political rumor that he will go no where after 2022 and wants to remain seriously engaged as a decision maker is more than a rumor no matter how many times he dodges that issue, hence the importance of the BBI product to the president and his handshake partner who has a stake in the strategy. Their handshake partnership is irrefutably going into the future as investment partners in the next potential governance structure.
